Ferrari car sales in 2002 will now be down!

As we near the end of what has been a frustrating week, I have finally made my decision.

I will not be buying a new Ferrari when I trade in my old second hand Renault Megane later this year.

It's a tough decision, but one I felt I had to make!!

Nar, Porsche is better. If I was in the position to choose, I'd take a 2000 GT3 over any Ferrari any day. They are still beautiful cars I don't think they are ugly! But I just like Porsche more. Mind you, I tell you waht I like even more, a TVR Cebera. Yesss, now that would be at the top of my list...
so anyways....

how do you come to that conclusion that ferrari sales will be down? This aint the end of the damn world you know!!

I'd have a TVR Tuscan Speed 6 if I had the money, on principle, it's cheaper and it's British!

I was actually at my dealer today (BMW & Ferrari) and saw that they've taken on a new line: Maserati. Good for them. With BMW's recent styling eyesores and Ferrari's PR blunders, I was feeling sorry for the sales people.

Anyway, if I were to buy an exotic, I'd wait for Lotus -- coming to the U.S. next year.

I'm going to be sitting with some Ferrari owners in Montreal in 3 weeks, but I'll be damned if I'll wear my Ferrari cap. Can't very well wear my BMW cap, however. What would be appropriate?

Ugly? I actually quite liked it and the way it looks...in fact, it looks aggressive while retaining bits of subtle and elegance...though at first sight, it is quite un-Ferrari...you'd appreciate how much its really an F1-car for the road. I'd take it over the Mclaren-Mercedes SLR any day!

agreed with you OVERSTEER, the tvr's may not have the tag of "most reliable" by for out and out fun, i don't think you can beat em.......i've driven a Chimera, and, although it's not the quickest car i've driven, it's certainly the most fun, their bully boy looks and sound make em stand out!

as for the ferrari, i thought it was ok, but i can see where calais was coming from, the prototype was horrible!

Well, this is the official picture released of the FX.

How much closer can we get a road car to a race car?

The nose is clearly inspired by an F1 car, and looks far better and F1-ish than the frankly quite odd looking nose of the Mclaren-Mercedes SLR.

The side air intake reminds us of the 1999 Ferrari F399 side pods, and a cockpit surround design that looks as if it's ripped off a Group C race car.

Add a midmounted V12 NA engine which produces as much power as an 1989 Ferrari F1, a body of carbonfibre, as focused as an F40, superlative (even if its not class leading) and advanced underbody aerodynamics which produce massive downforce...this is very much the car to have and worthy of Ferrari's name.

Gt_r you have rightly pointed out the individual aspects of the FX, but in doing so have highlited my main point.

This design while using sone nice features from past cars, has no overall simetry or style.

Ferarri`s have allways been hailed as a work of art from front to rear, not this bit or that bit.

BTW i`m not a Ferarri fan.

Ferraris have indeed been hailed as work of arts...very oddly do you have a car that goes down history as an ugly Ferrari.

Strangely, recent Ferraris have always received mixed reactions when they are first pictured...we had it with the 550 Maranello, we had it with the 360 Modena. Journalist are reserved with their praises, and tifosis would say how terrible or strange it looks. But with time, the looks grow on you. Now the 575M looks lean and muscular, with a touch of elegance. The Modena? Purposeful yet graceful, and the topless version is one of the most beautiful cars in showrooms today.
From the days where people think that these new Ferraris have lost touch from the predecessors and unworthy of the Ferrari name, now the very same cars are ranked as some of the best Ferrari ever and Ferraris which have in a way redefine Ferrari as a marque...bringing it to higher level.

And the same would be for the F60. A car that would go down history as one of the greatest.
