Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Konami have confirmed that the latest in the MGS Series will be called Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It is set in the 60's, during the cold war. No details about the storyline yet, (I only just found out!)But I found some screenson its offical site...
It's set in a jungle, as you may have noticed. Hopefully that will mean a bigger place to play the game in, as good as they were I thought the locations in the last two were a bit cramped. Anyway, this is the offical site - I'm gonna look for more sceenshots! |

I've been following it very closly since the teaser pop up on the konami site a couple of weeks ago and downloaded the 12 minute trailer the minute it was available.
The time when it's actually set is still up for debate at the moment as Solid Snake was not 'born' until the 70's. Remember of course that Kojima is a master of deception so you shouldn't take anything you of the game at face value. What ever happens I'm really excitied as I loved MGS1 and 2. P.s. Also check out the konami site for details on the MGS1 remake currently being made for the Gamecube, unfortuneatly I've got to buy one now! |

Exactly Tristan, and thermal goggles. I have a feeling the true setting of the game will remain a secret until release.
(BTW, you may be a little confused, the pics I posted are from a different game to the ones posted earlier, mine are from the MGS1 remake currently in development for the Gamecube. Last edited by Damon; 26 May 2003 at 08:36. |

Ya know, the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (released on the NES and the like) were both set (or had part of the game) in a jungle. Perhaps MGS3 is a prequel?

Hideo has already said that it is a true sequal but in the new details here he contradicts that. The details given in the link are very interesting none the less.

Just thought I'd bring this back, and let everyone know that the Offical UK PS2 Magazine has the trailier on it, and oh my god I want this game. It looks amazing. The GTA joke in the trailier was brilliant too!

Oh and btw, all signs point towards us playing as Big Boss in Snake Eater, not Solid Snake.

I got mine about 3 months ago (just for this game!), and I went for the platinum Zelda pack. It's great value at £129.99 and Zelda will certainly keep you occupied for a few weeks.
