Thanks for bringing back fond memories We had great success with the Astra, so much so that last year we built a replica, which is every bit as good, if not better than the original. The original Astra took us to 2 class championships in Mod-Prods (I think - long time ago!), the new one took us to CSCC Future Classics series winners 2011. Long live Astra GTE 16V's

Wish I had an incar of that Pembrey race (25 laps I think), never forget that, we battled for the lead for the whole race, with the lead changing 2 or 3 times some laps, as I think we were both struggling with tyres well past their best towards the end.

Was Ray not coming out again in the Manta sometime ?

Great Mondello video....Good memories...Mondello was my first race meeting in mod prods and with a new car (still got it), what a fantastic weekend, apart from running out of money for fuel on the way home, must have blown it on the local beverage...Hi Al, I would love to see the TV footage as I havn't seen it.

Hi Phil how are you? I will have to go through my old VHS tapes I still have a player but have to work out how to hook it up so i can burn a CD, I'm sure its possible. The Irish commentator makes it with his Irish Murray Walker impression, total nutter! I also have the Anglia TV video from Snett somewhere and thats really professional when such things were shown on TV.

Yeah I'm o.k Al, hope you're well.... back to mondello, I remember rolling up Thursday after lunch for testing and the circuit guy opening the gate to let me across the track to the paddock while there was a session on with cars on the circuit, we later signed on for testing and it was the same guy running the office, later that day in the bar, guess who's pulling pints of guinness ...what great place, I guess it has all changed now, competitors names on the time sheets seem to change to the Irish equivalent... mine after one session was Philip Seamus and others had an 'O' squeezed in here and there..hilarious. I hope you can find the videos, I didn't know there was one from Snett, love to see them...Phil.

Hey Phil, ... another blast from the past! nice to see you on here. talking of blast ... im sure it was you that i saw briefly on the M6 while on route to oulton one day! i was plodding along in the tranny (the type with wheels ) at about 80 er i mean 50 when this sunbeam came past when i say "came" past ..... i actually thought we had stopped! i seem to remember you were late and trying to get there in time to practice and were cruising at 120 ish
i have a couple of vids i really must find a way to get them on YT.

Al, if you do get round to sorting your vids, id really love to see the one your James took at that very very wet Donny meet, probably one of my best races.

Yep I was with them yesterday. Back to the topic Gerry Cain's SDI took a big blow at Brands last week I hope the current owners can put it back together.

I have the machine up and running Mick I really should get on with doing the editing, I may go and buy a load of DVD blanks and get started at the weekend. Some of the stuff is on 9mm tape and I still have the 9mm machine but I think its given up the ghost although it plays it wont show it on the machines viewfinder I am hoping it will work on the TV. Someone sent me an email which I will try to reproduce here asking for pictures and video from the years when Falken were involved as the company was putting something together.
