Just got back from Friday Night Qually...

Met Rob Huff, nice bloke... got me into the pitlane during qually... took lots of pics up'n'down the pitlane, then was asked to exit by a Marshall, since I didn't have a pass, fair enough Great Evening!

Can't wait for 4:30 tomorrow afternoon!

So? What kind of coverage will we get on the net? Only T&S or is there a chance for live-audio or even a video-stream??

If the Jetalliance Porsche has a trouble free race from here it should win considering the weather at the moment and the weather due for tomorrow. All i will say is that if your going to watch tomorrow dont forget the life raft and wellies.

Does anyone know what the problems for the Huff car were? Weren't they leading for a while?

Accident following a stuck throttle... but at that point they already had lost the lead due to lenghty repairs after chassis-damage.

23 minutes to go and there is just 50 seconds between the MJC Ferrari and the Jet Alliance Porsche - I wish I had been at Silverstone. Then again looking at the weather maybe not!

Less than 5 mins to go. Looks like the MJC Ferrari will take it.

Shame about all the rain but the 3 days were saved by having an infield pass which allowed me to have the car close to hand.

Enjoyed Saturday night down at Vale and even managed a couple of hours sleep during the long SC periods. Took far too many photos which will take a while to process.

A special mention to all the marshals who stood out in all that weather and especially the crew down at Vale who were kept busy rescuing beached cars all night.

Well done to MJC for a great win after making a decision to enter only a week before the race! It could be argued they had the best car, but the prep job in the time available was great and Keith Robinson and John Gaw deserve kudos for doing the driving throughout the latter third of the race to secure the win. I think Cristiano Michelotto probably also deserves some applause for his excellent customer service which Witt Gamski has mentioned many times in the past.

Also great job by JetAlliance to put up a fight in what was probably the second-best car on the grid, tricked out for enduros with its RSR gearbox. It takes two to make a race and they (esp. Martin Rich) sure did that.

Thanks to DSC for the excellent updates while following the PLM action last night.

Had an absolutely fantastic time at Silverstone this weekend. Proper brilliant.

Looked like the Aquilla had it in the bag, and then overnight everything changed, leading to an epic climax between the MJC Ferrari and the Jet Alliance Porsche.

Wasn't a barrel of laughs when it tipped it down at about 9 o'clock last night, but I'm glad I persevered through the dire weather conditions as it was an entertaining race, particularly in the second half.

Just got home and starting to sort out all of the wet clothes. The end few hours certainly made it worth it though.

SLIGHTLY DAMP! thats a serious understatement.

Couple of vids to give you an idea of what it was like behind the wheel.

Its onboard the Daniels Motorsport Civic Type-R # 94

I started and this is a few laps in, check at around 6mins for AWESOME Moslers speed anc commitment !!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et6nc4RXVYw

And this is an idea what the night stint was like, this was my 2nd stint at around midnight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5hjICXnXQU

We finished 28th overall .. not bad for an old Civic

Had a fantastic weekend, and well done to the MJC Ferrari! I must admit I thought the Aquila had it in the bag, that is until that stuck throttle sent it straight on in front of us at Bridge. Spent the majority of the night in the grandstand at Club, or by Bridge. Only slept for a hour at about 5AM, during the safety car period which i believe was for poor visability. Rain and wind picked up during this afternoon a bit though! Well worth £12 for two days, and I will 100% be going next year aswell!

Seeing the Mosler's complete late lunges under braking into club at night in the rain was certainly spectacular, they alays looked like the were going just to fast!

I think the Aquila was toast from the 40 laps it lost for the cracking suspension crossmember. That would have been just as ugly as a stuck throttle at Bridge if it had let go on track!

Loved every second of the 2 days. First 24hr race and i will be back in 2011. Only a couple of problems

1. when we booked the tickets we was told we needed a parking pass that was £6. So 2 cars of us came to £12. When we got there parking was FREE so someone at silverstone needs to pay us back £12. NOT HAPPY!!!

2. During the night there was NO PA system on the infield at all and the only place was the stand across from the pit. Not a massive problem as that is where we was planning to spend the night anyway. Also the PA went off at around 4:30am and again that wasnt great!

But all in all from getting to Silverstone at 9am saturday and leaving at 5pm sunday, it was a fantastic racing and a great advert for endurance racing. It was my first but WONT be my last.

ROLL ON 2011

I had a ball. I have to ask someone about that £6 charge for parking though, as I paid it up front, and again, I will be expecting a refund if they weren't charging on the gate!

All went well. Appropriate clothing meant the rain was there, but not stopping things, but then my big lens broke. Ish. The zoom ring went VERY stiff, then suddenly somethng 'snapped', and it went VERY loose.

Still works after a fashion, but it's most definitly off to Olympus for repair.

I have a LOT of pictures, including the Aquila guys sweating buckets to change that suspect rear suspension member. Rob Huff was philosophical, claiming he was happy at anything up to 30 laps behind, as he reckoned they could make that up!

I'll stick pix up, once I get them onto a computer that can see the internet, as the home net has died. BT fault, I believe. Any BT engineers on here?

Oh, and how the hell did JA LOSE the race? 1 hour to go, 20-30 second lead, seeming fairly static. Walk over to the grandstand to watch the finish, and they're nearly a lap down??? Congrats to MJC on what would seem to have been a tactical masterclass!

I too had an enjoyable time.

Good to see an eclectic range of cars competing inc. mk2 Golf, Honda Jazz and a pair of MX5s without roofs, just the thing for a wet race.

I'm not too bothered about the £6 parking as it was part of the 'free' tickets deal earlier in the year.

Our tickets were not in that deal so we paid £12 each plus the £6 parking

My understanding is that the Ferrari's pace on inters both when the Porsche was still on wets and again when it was on inters was sufficient to both hunt the latter down and pass it. Sounds like the Porsche got balked a bit coming in for its final stop, but by then Gaw had the pace in hand over Nykjaer to bring it home. I think that the Ferrari may also have had a quicker final stop to help build its lead? DSC mentions they only took on 25L of fuel at the final stop, but there is not a mention of how much JA took on.

Great event, despite the fairly despicable conditions, good job saturday allowed us to dry out, well done to the MJC Ferrari, made the final hours nail biteing. Also, a shout to the Escort Cossie Boys, top 20, good result.

Sometime in the wee small hours a photographer took a great shot of the AZT Porsche from the flag point at Vale, I would like to get hold of a copy if he is reading, or anyone knows who it was, (there were 4 of them 3 blokes and a Lady, travelling in a Vectra)please PM me. Ta
