F3 - qualifying from Oulton - very strange!
Robert Dahlgren has put his scholarship class car on pole position for race 2 - this is a first in the history of the series.
Race One Heikki Kovalainen has continued his good form by nabbing pole position for Race One tomorrow and the amazing Adam Carroll, who is likely to take the scholarship crown this weekend, will start from second on the grid. Kerr is down in 11th! 1 Heikki Kovalainen 1m30.385s 2 Adam Carroll 1m30.621s 3 James Courtney 1m30.672s 4 Robert Dahlgren 1m30.684s 5 Fabio Carbone 1m30.767s 6 Mark Taylor 1m30.853s 7 Matt Gilmore 1m30.890s 8 Clivio Piccione 1m31.084s 9 Shinya Hosokawa 1m31.120s 10 Ronnie Bremer 1m31.168s 11 Robbie Kerr 1m31.342s 12 Stefan Hodgetts 1m31.461s 13 Billy Asaro 1m31.514s 14 Stefan de Groot 1m31.514s 15 Bruce Jouanny 1m31.531s 16 John Antoniadis 1m31.539s 17 Richard Antinucci 1m31.563s 18 Karun Chandhok 1m31.647s 19 Alan van der Merwe 1m31.759s 20 Gavin Smith 1m31.883s 21 Mark Mayall 1m31.902 22 Mohammed Fairuz 1m31.946 23 Stephen Colbert 1m31.975 24 Justin Sherwood 1m32.204 25 Stefano Fabi 1m32.460 26 Harold Primat 1m32.927 27 Rob Austin 1m33.061 28 Pedro Barral 1m33.498 29 Tor Graves 1m33.661 Race Two 1 Robert Dahlgren 1:31.248 2 James Courtney 1:31.249 3 Clivio Piccione 1:31.381 4 Heikki Kovalainen 1:31.477 5 Billy Asaro 1:31.742 6 Robbie Kerr 1:31.752 7 Fabio Carbone 1:31.833 8 Mark Taylor 1:31.847 9 Rob Austin 1:31.864 10 Matt Gilmore 1:31.968 11 Shinya Hosokawa 1:32.025 12 Stefan de Groot 1:32.143 13 Mark Mayall 1:32.153 14 Ronnie Bremer 1:32.206 15 Adam Carroll 1:32.250 16 John Antonadis 1:32.320 17 Stephen Colbert 1:32.336 18 Richard Antinucci 1:32.341 19 Stefan Hodgetts 1:32.484 20 Bruce Jouanny 1:32.484 21 Mohammed Fairuz 1:32.496 22 Alan Van Der Merwe 1:32.558 23 Gavin Smith 1:32.588 24 Karun Chandhok 1:32.614 25 Stefano Fabi 1:32.788 26 Justin Sherwood 1:33.334 27 Harold Primat 1:33.475 28 Tor Graves 1:33.724 29 Pedro Barral 1:34.228 |

Full report on site http://www.britishsingleseaters.cjb.net
The first session was down to the fact that the Scholarship Class cars ran in much cooler conditions than the Championship Class so we were told so we all expected things to return to usual for the second session but then Dahlgren goes and sticks it on pole. I think the teams have said all along that they prefer the old car and perhaps its just much harder to set up at Oulton than most circuits whilst the Scholarship Class cars will already have three years experience. Whatever it makes tomorrow very interesting indeed. |

We'll see. Yes not all F3 races are entertaining I agree but when they are they are superb, the two Rockigham rounds were some of the best racing I've seen this season in any form of racing.
If your not interested in it then don't post is all I have to say. Post in a forum where you are. I'm not a fan or touring cars anymore. I find them boring and un-interesting but I wouldn't go in their forum slagging them off. Some people find F3 interesting some don't. I will find tomorrows race interesting if you don't, each to there own. Last edited by Gaz; 17 Aug 2002 at 21:17. |

Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we all agreed on everything & only the uncritical were allowed to post in a forum? |

Keohane tested yesterday but has gone back to be with his ill farther.
As for Dave, yes I also have a sense of humour and when somethings funny I laugh, your comment wasn't it was just slagging off a series which I'm a fan of. I'm sure if I started slagging off say mini's you'd have a word or two to say. Yes the world would be a boring place if everyone agreed, this forum though is to discuss single seater racing not slag it off. Your obviously not interested in this type of racing so why bother posting. It's not as if any of us really want to hear your ravings about slot car racing as you call it.
