Why Weaver quit?
Recently , James Weaver quit Bently due to safety Problems after Albereto was killed. However , I think that wasn't a good reason as a GT1 car is safer than a Prototype as there is a roof on a GT car to protect your head. Prove lies with Peter Dumbreck and Mark Webber , who both survived big accidents unhurt , when driving a GT1.

Weaver quitting Bentley
Regarding the safety of the enclosed cars, your probably correct. However, anytime a driver has any doubts about his car, for safety reasons, not driving seems appropriate. I certainly hopes he finds another, more suitable ride. He should be at Le Mans.

Whatever additional safety the closed top can provide, I am sure in his mind it was modest compared to what he felt was a heightened risk

James Weaver is a seasoned and excellent sports car racer and I find it hard to believe that he would quit a race team like Bentley over just some minor safety issue. It must be quite a bit larger problem than anyone outside the team realizes. It might also be the initial reaction since the death of his friend Alboreto. He is not a young man and may be re-analyzing his reasons to continue racing. Personally I think he will emerge driving for another team and he should do well.

Well they have named his replacement. He will be replaced by Eric Van der Pole as expected.

VAN DE POELE
Eric van de Poele, another of the many excellent Belgian sports car racers, will be an excellent replacement in the AuBentley. The Bentley , although its their first year, is very much an offshoot of the Audi R8 program, and will play a major role in this year's race.
