Erm... oh dear, graphics look very poor, especially trackside detail, AGAIN. |

They're not that bad really. Not up there with the best of racing games, but for a title that is essentially recycled year on year you can't complain too much. I'd hope they concentrated on other things like better damage, more accurate representation of actual track layout than what's on the other side of the barriers...

It's no different really, which is to be expected.
I shall pick it up, just so I have all the games in the series.....though I don't expect anything at all pleasant. |

the biggest problem that F1 games have compared with other racing games, are that you need to be able to show the full grid sometimes, even with five or six LOD's that really screws poly counts. Plus all the extra track furniture for hordings, grandstands etc.
it looks OK though, nothing really new |

It looks the same as a Nigel Mansell game that I used to play on a Super Nintendo in 1993!

I think they're concentrating more on the authenticity of the PS3 version.

The worrying thing about those pictures is the fact that Super Aguri drivers are on the top step of the podium!

Yes, I think that's possibly the most worrying thing about it. By that evidence it is still as easy as ever to win in the slow cars. The damage doesn't look particularly convincing either.
All in all then just F105 with the cars repainted... |

Did anyone seriously expect anything different though? It's a shame it looks like there will be nothing new, but at least I can race online now.
I'll still be buying the game, and I can't say I'm too downhearted because it's always the same with F1 games on the PS2! |

I must admit, that crossed my mind earlier....there are some textures and shapes that tend to suggest that.

Yeah, i thought it was PSP too, but just look at PS2 F1 games before, graphically. The same.
Anyone noticed the flashy menu's in the game? It seems as if they spent more effort and money on those than the actual game itself.. |

Hang on a second...
I found a more reliable source, Gamespot. http://uk.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/f...html?q=F1%2006 (PS2) http://uk.gamespot.com/psp/driving/f1/index.html (PSP) |

I can't wait to play this game. I love a shocker now and again.
It's gonna be weird going from MotoGP 06 to F1 06! |

I seem to remember the F1 05 screens were rubbish, and then graphically I thought it was really good for a PS2 game, a giant leap in the F1 series at least.

That's true, actually. F1 05 turned out moderately pleasing to the eye, if you discounted the slightly incorrect car models.

Graphics aren't everything, you know. The game could turn out to have excellent gameplay and be a pleasure to play on.
Or is that being a touch optimistic? ;-) ps. if anyone ever goes on F1 05 online, I have just joined and go under the name 'chrisgoodall'. I'm surprised that there are still a lot of people using it online, as it is a year old now. |

Eye candy isn't the be all and end all. Gameplay is what is required (and F105 was good, but way too easy when against the AI.) After all the best F1 game (IMHO) is still Geoff Crammonds GP series 1-3(2000), not the greatest graffics but way fun to play and mod... (ps-I mean modern F1 sim...)

That's true, but graphics really help give the game that authentic feel, by looking like real life, it adds to the sense of realism.
