I havent bought a sony f1 game since F104. The main reason being game play.
The graphics are poor but i wouldnt mind buying it if they had realistic gameplay and handling. I remember in f1 04 i would be some 2 or 3 seconds a lap quicker on the hardest level...sometimes id go 2 laps down on purpose to give myself a challenge...quite tedious... so unless someone tells me the gameplay and AI have significantly improved im not going to bother buying the Sony games... |

At first they seem ok when you buy them. Then you realise they are encredibly unchallenging and unrealistic.
No doubt I'll get F1 06. A '06 mod on F1C or rfactor I'm sure would be ten times better. |

F1 05 I think is an alright game though, just not great. But when I bought F1 04 and went on it for the first time, I just thought 'This is even worse than the 2003 version!'. I hope f1 06 is not the same...

Price in UK will be £30.00, though there will be places you can pick it up for up to a tenner less I imagine. |

Amazon have it priced at £25, or rather, they had at the start of June. I haven't bothered looking since.

Amazon's release price is £29.99 if anyone is interested, not the £25 I said earlier.

It's just the same as ever then.
They have at least changed the engine sounds accordingly. |

One time I had a crazy dream, where McLaren fired Kimi Raikonen and got a new driver and changed their livery to Marlboro and David Coulthard won the race!

Can't remember if this links appeared earlier on in this thread.
http://www.f1gamers.com/f1/apanel/vi...?id=130&page=2 Interview with a dev, and the thing about the safety car is that it seems they were going to add it to the Ps2 version, but because of Super Aguri, they couldn't. Q: Will the Safety Car make an appearance in game? A: The plan is for it appear in PS3 version although we're yet to implement it at the moment. It should be quite good fun and it will add a new dimension to the game when it's call out onto the track. Having to stick or twist on pit strategy and then keeping your tyre temperature up ready for the restart is what we're aiming for in terms of new gameplay elements. The biggest thing for keeping it out of the other two versions is that Super Aguri joined the party so that now means that our engine that was maxed out on the PS2 now has to do two more lots of AI , Rendering, Collision Detection, HUD elements, Pit Stops, Texture Space, Sounds etc. You can see why when we’re trying to squeeze a quart into a pint pot (especially with the PSP), even just memory wise, we need to be very selective about what new features we include. |
