Also worth bearing in mind that Prodrive will be kept busy with their Mini WRC prgram...

Yes, there is that also. But that should not have any bearing on whether they can, but might on, if they do.

Indeed! Prodrive ran Subaru's WRC program alongside their sportscar until 2008, it's not like they cannot handle multiple things at once. They have also been running the Ford Performance Racing team in Aussie V8 Supercars since 2000, not to mention their involvement managing BAR Honda in 2001-2004 while running the Ferrari 550 program. Multitasking is their specialty as long as they get paid!

Prodrive were initially looking to run in sportscars, F1 and the WRC.
With the F1 program a no go the focus now appears to be on P1 and the WRC in a factory capacity and GT's for customers. |

Audi racing full-time at the ALMS wouldn't benefit Audi worldwide, just North America. That's why it's North America's branch the one to handle the project and pay the bills.

How will PLM be scored? Double points or will the ACO use IMSA's points system?

I thought that only the highest scoring car scores points for the manufacturer normally. Is this different for the ilmc?

The entire ILMC points structure confuses me. Are there bonus points for the fastest qualifier or the fastest race lap or something? How does Joest have 21 points for finishing 3rd while Oreca only gets 22 points? Schnitzer has the same amount of points as Drayson, despite Schnitzer finishing 5th and Drayson 4th!

The point systems of ILMC is explained in http://www.lemans.org/wpphpFichiers/...mc_2010_gb.pdf
Yes, there is a bonus point for the pole position. I hope that addresses your confusion. |

Yesss!
I have begun following FIA GT1 and GT3 because the availability of online coverage. The prospect of seeing the full ILMC online or on TV is fantastic! (Excluding Sebring and PLM which of course I will be at ) They might as well show the remaining LMS rounds too. |

Streaming alongside a quality highlights package is the way to go for endurance racing, particularly the ILMC with races across the world. Bring RLM onboard and the series would have the perfect TV package and wouldn't be reliant on fickle TV broadcasters. |

Thanks JAG. 3 or more Peugeots in the ILMC would be great.

If I am reading the 2011 schedule correctly, there will be a race at Spa. Interested in hearing what race yould favor in attending - the Intercontinental Cup at Spa or the 24 hours of Spa? Have been to one Le Mans race but will not be able to attend in 2011 - son will still be in school. So am looking for an alternative. Any thoughts?
Thanks! |
