With the lack of a 2013 997, the only reason a Porsche team would want to run in GTE-PRO is if they magically found the money for a pro driver lineup. It seems the deck was stacked against ELMS 2013 being anything but GTE-AM.

I find this is disappointing, if only because it makes a new team like RAM have to down-spec their cars in order to compete. Not a problem on its own (though it would have been interesting to see their PRO driver lineups), but it surely reduces their competitiveness in the 'selected other races' they plan on running.

Thanks for the confirmation Graham, I too was under the impression that GT PRO would be part of ELMS next year. Good to see a new team like RAM coming into the series. Going by the PR they're very lucky to have such a hands off benefactor who would prefer to remain anonymous. Most teams would kill to have someone like that.

I'd say Boutsen might be more likely to race in GTC with the McLaren.

The ELMS isn´t that dead.... BTW, you forgot the Oreca team on the LMPC class, they was going to enter with a different name

Edited: Team endurance challenge, that was the name

And endurance Info talked about the posibility of a second Zytek for Jota long time ago...

Were they even looking at ELMS in the first place?

Why would you race a GT3 in ELMS in the first place?

No I'd rather race in Blancpain which is where Gulf were last year so wondering why would they look at ELMS.

They tested with the ELMS at Paul Ricard at the start of the year wearing #90 on an orange number sticker with Am stickers......

Who knows, they might do select rounds.

"tested" is a big word, the engine of car exploded after a pair of laps.
Little OT, this is how should be the 2013 mp4-12c gt3. Basicly is almost the same aero updates that dorr and gemballa received for VLN and 24H of nurburgring.

Still needs a bigger splitter (can't exactly tell if it is bigger in that pic).

i can't remember if was alvaro parente or someone else, but in an interview before the 2011 24hours of spa, he said that the mp4-12c and the sls gt3 were the cars with more downforce on the front, so I think that the splitter in the pic has been done bigger just to balance the car once equipped with that higher and maybe wider giant rear wing. 2012 shown that the mp4-12c is extremely competitive in the hands of great drivers and teams! the main problem remains always the same: reliability of the engine.
Speaking about GT3, i hope that the 2013 458 GT3 will use a more conventional rear wing and not that so IMHO ugly one.
