BRDC Historic Sportscars - Graham Dodd

bit old news I guess but I see his position at teh Oulton Park HSCC meeting has been removed following a post race inspection - anyone know what the misdemeanour was?

he got a 'talking to' last year as well after the HRSR race, continuing to race whilst shedding gallons of oil on the circuit, causing about half a doxen incidents then blaming someone else.

at a guess I'm thinking the holy Grail sketch with John Cleese . . . 'none shall pass'

this will probably be to do with the eligibility of his car - have to say that I am more interested in why you are up at 04.24.... are you a dad yet?

yes, their round at the HSCC Oulton Park meeting - not sure where he originally came but if you go onto the BRDC website it tells you that following a post race scrute he was removed from the final classification..
It would be a shame if his results thus far in the series have been down to a hooky car as he is a good (but aggressive) driver

not a Dad yet . . . . sounds like an 'overprepared' car it would certainly tie up with the rest of the family fleet, although I'm not aware of the exact rules pertaining HSCC /BRDC stuff, but HRSR certainly isn't what you'd call 'period correct'

BRDC are quite particular and unlike HRSR take the traditional FIA route! Looks like he might have broken the 11th Commandment - Thou shall not get caught!

Unless it had something to do with some rather robust driving at Old hall, both on the opening lap and when he took the lead from Phiip Walker? As far as I can see, the BRDC website doesn't mention specifically any technical infringement.

I now understand that it was possibly a combination of that and a slightly loose interpretation of the rules
I think he has found out rather abruptly that what was execptable in a mk2 Jaguar in HSCC is not so well tolerated in this series!
thanks for that and I would say again that its a shame as he doesnt need to behave like a rep on the M25 nor indeed "over prep" his car as he is a good driver -- but then he wouldn't be the first to come from tintops and be over aggressive in this series!!

and Agreed Simon, he's capable of winning legitimately I think, why he's not prepared to play fair and reap the respect I don't know.

he has formidable opposition in that series and he has faired well but it looks like he has thrown away the championship for a moment or two of madness
