Montoya has signed for Mclaren for the 2005 season to partner Kimi.
The end of the road for DC? Shumi must be staying at Ferrari beyond then or Montoya would have gone there? |

Wow - I'm quite surprised that they would go public with this arrangement. There will be so much blather about non-equal treatment in 2004. It would be much better to switch straight away.

I think mac is referring to Webber taking JPM's seat at Williams & the fact that Flavio owns Webber's contract.

Plenty of people will relish the sight of JPM and Kimi head to head in the same car - it should be a good test of both of them. Although I don't particularly see JPM as a 'natural' McLaren 'mould' driver, it will be their most formidable line up since Senna/Prost.

It's a shame the switch couldn't've been done for 2004, as it would've eased a lot of tensions regarding favourable treatment. Still, wouldn't it be great to see Montoya take the 2004 title and mvoe the #1 plate to McLaren, just to rub Frank's nose in it?
I also doubt whether the McLaren environemnt will suit Montoya, but Senna did okay with it. |
