GP2 Barcelona

Im sure a lot of teams and drivers will be hoping for a far more competitive weekend than the one they had at Imola - this should be a good weekend for most drivers I would think.

im even more surprised to see pantano way down. i was of the opinion he was a barcelona master....in a way. how on earth did viso manage only 20th??? carroll was the pacesetter for the first half of session......but thats just meaningless nonsence coming from a carroll nut dissapointed he is so far down the grid. ah well, adam never finishes behind his qualifying slot so....

pla and sharp. top stuff from the dpr boys. they look good on this track. alverez did a great job too.

i think because gp2 so talent-full there may always be sporadic grid lineups.

good stuff from DPR indeed, 7th and 5th are good places to attack from in a 40 lapper - you don't need to be right at the front at the start of a race that long

Blimey , that looks a good grid for entertaining race ...lets just hope the director gets all the best shots ...

Piquet better placed this time , he should run better i would think .

Id love to see Carroll and Viso come through for a good finish though ...

looking forward to the race alot for tomorrow .

i always thought lapierre would be more than a match for heikki. i think so far im beginning to be proved right.....i would expect nicolas to be the big winner at monaco aswell looking at his street track cred.

weird that pantano and viso are that far back though, they were the 2 drivers i thought would be best placed to get things here at barca. heikki and adam, who would have finished 1-2 in the first race and 1-2 in the second race in imola but for slight problems each, starting midfield but interestingly, side by side!

Looks like a very interesting grid for tommorow's race. Shame to see Carroll so far down the order, but on a plus side nice to see Ryan Sharp up near the front. Great to see Speed up there at the front, lets hope he can get a good result.

Might be poo-rotating object interface time... Pla and Bruni's times may be disallowed as they were allegedly set under waved yellows... and as we all know, only drivers of red cars called Michael are allowed to get away with that...

So do we know anything further about Pla and Bruni's (potential) removal of their best times?

bruni won the race with scott speed 2nd. heikki pitted early and it paid off as he came 3rd. he is now clear points leader.

the dpr guys were going well but they both dropped out within a lap of eachother and negrao and carroll will be the front row for the second race.

Not a bad race at all, would have been better if there was a little more overtaking though. Shame for Ryan getting a DNF a 3rd was defintly on the cards. Good news for Carroll though, looking good for race 2.

the fact that jani and kovalainen made early stops and finished were they did and also taking into account that adam carroll did the same thing in imola and might have won shows that early pitstops could be the key to success in gp2's main race.

its a real shame for dpr though. if there was ever a team that was suited to a track it was dave price and barca by the looks of it. ryan was holding on well, keeping the pace and looked set for a good result, a very good result. pla was all over the place but showed true pace and i will wait to hear the explanation for his accident.

It is, they should get stronger throughout the season and it wouldn't surprise me if we had a DPR 1-2 before the season is out

(I am not biased, how dare you )

Yes I think he has, its more Metallic, havent spoken to him about the helmet though, its nice innit?
