Minardi's engine supply for next year

What engines do you think they will use?

Well Autosport is saying that ferrari have offered Minardi engines next year providing that they can come up with £15million.

It also suggests that failing this they may opt for a supply of cheaper Cosworth engines.

Ferrari would make sense since Gazprom and Shell have a joint venture together.

I read about Gazprom on that link, if they are prepared to help Minardi then he is on to a winner - The one company is responsible for 8% of the GDP of Russia!! Pretty impressive, although I suspect problably 500% of Russias GDP is not declared and is not reflected in their statistics!

My money is still on Cosworth. Of course, it's Paul's money that counts...

Ferrari would be preferable though, provided the money is there. Look at what happened to Prost.

Quite possibly, Minardi will get the Russian driver for testing in exchange for a stack of Roubles. If the customer Ferrari engine comes with this year's gearbox plus this year's blackbox, plus various running gear, then this would be the package to lift Minardi up to midfield if they have a driver of Marks calibre.

Almost certainly some sort of outdated Ford motor, sadly. Funding next year is going to be tight for Minardi, can't see them doing anything better than that.
