Lydden candidate round & 12 rounds in ERC
I was reading all the stuff on ERC and Rallycross Worlds and I do hope that a lot of ERC contenders will come to Lydden on the 24 and 25th of August.
I was also reading the "debate" on the maximum of 12 rounds in ERC and that there are 14 candidates, while (most) drivers see 10 as a financial and time related maximum. I think a combination with Belgium and Holland is also a good date for a proper ERC as most of the drivers are there anyway. Maybe 12 rounds are only possible if the ERC driven in a "3 in a row" strategy, rather than the current "2 in a row" format. Like: Portugal > France > Austria Belgium > England > Belgium (I put England in between, because than there is no hurry anyway, saves total travel time for the drivers from Sandinavia and France etc) Norway > Sweden > Finland Hungary > Czech Republik > Poland It would be nice it the ERC could attract a ferryline for free transfers though... Although Russia is a bit remote and difficult to place... Just like the remote Portugese... Last edited by 1975DCS; 30 Mar 2008 at 14:26. |

They used to do this many years ago and I rememebr even back then guys like Will and Pat often would not attend the Finnish round at HAmeenlina coz it was just too far.
Quite whay we never had France and Lydden or Mondello and Lydden consecutively I will never know! |

Yes! Imagine a Irish driver going to Finland: The Ferries alone cost a fortune for a truck + trailer + car... And some 6.000 km... Yikes!

day trip
Brussels ( Belgium ) to Kazan, the capital from Tatarstan: viamichelin
Not exactly a day-trip. Take care about the only speed trap, 4km after your depart. Last edited by mivec; 1 Apr 2008 at 11:21. |
