Ahhh, I think I've worked it out now! Anagram of the word 'great' by any chance? Leaving us with the name of a horrible little self-righteous Scandinavian do-gooder?
Unusual for you to make a typo Richard! Standards slipping? P.S. I also met Rosemary once or twice, when she competed in a couple of the same historic rallies as my Japanese friends, back in the nineties. In an imp, of course! Very nice lady and sad news indeed. |

Sad news indeed.
I didn't know her but I shared a grid with her once at the 1975 British GP Supersaloon support race. She was driving a Ford Escort FVC. I see from the results that we both retired from the race. What a great YouTube clip in the F1 Renault - she wasn't hanging back. |

New trailer out for film " Race For Glory " . Back to the days of the Group B supercars . The cars were very powerful , perhaps too fast as a few bad crashes caused them to be banned by 1986 [ From memory ]. Just hoping the film is realistic and not a HOLLWOOD style load of bovine scatology . Not sure when the whole film is being put out but should be soon . |

I'm going to try to get to the Ferrari film when it's released. Like Tel I hope this isn't a Hollywood soap.
Just got to the end of the Brawn doc. Classy, that's all I need say. Sent from my AC2003 using Tapatalk |

I've watched the first three parts of the Brawn doc. Really fascinating stuff, especially behind the scenes and also learn a few things. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, you need to. Must go round my brother's to watch the last part if the first 3 are anything to go by |

Well worth it, some real soul searching from Jenson. Also some great clips of him karting as a kid at Clay Pigeon Raceway, our home club!

I'm watching "Bangers and Cash", and there's a pre-War car for sale, I think it was a Riley Kestrel but it doesn't matter. One of the team said:
"I don't expect this to fly. When we buy Classic cars we look for cars of our youth and the people whose youth this was aren't driving any more. Lovely thing, but who wants it?" My feelings exactly. Apart from "investment" exotica, who is going to buy the everyday classics like the MG P or T type now? I can see some sound value in the next few years for the real enthusiast. But equally, where is the talent going to be to maintain them or supply parts? Interestingly the programme does feature a lot of 70s/80s cars. (For those that haven't seen it "Bangers and Cash" is a programme about a Classic car auction house.) Sent from my AC2003 using Tapatalk |

Never saw a P-type in the flesh but we have quite a few T-model around here. Easy to maintain, all parts being avaible (good or very good quality). Need skills but talent? As to "Bangers and Cash" we have to pay to watch hence its not well known here. Instead we have really crappy programs mainly based on the original DW program. Not really enjoyable imo.

Max, we get it here in Aus on our Foxtel cable TV. Its one of my must see programmes. I love it. Brilliant show. We are only up to series 4 here (not long finished) so at least a couple of series behind the UK I think.

Here's the URL for the auctions. https://g.co/kgs/iYSUG8
I know someone who was very pleased with their purchase from the August 2023 auction. Drove from Milton Keynes to Pickering to collect, then drove back in the purchase. Her husband followed in the modern car. |

A great programme though, and all of the family appear quite 'normal'. |

Not exactly what I was referring to to be honest, but then it is also not unusual so maybe it is 'normal' behaviour. (Not that I necessarily condone that type of thing myself). (What I really meant was that despite the 'fame and attention' the program must have brought to them, they all do appear to be quite grounded and still enthusiasts at heart). |
