Scheckter Out?
Sounds like Thomas may be on the chopping block... in an interview he said he pretty much expects to be fired after his crash last weekend. Cheever's comments seem to fall in line, too...
What do yall think of that possibility? The kid is obviously very fast. He also tends to stuff it in the wall/other cars in more than 50% of his outings  He's kicking dear boss Eddie's butt, though. I think it will be a shame to see him go, but he says he has talked to CART teams, would be nice to see him on the road courses. |

well he has proven to be very fast indeed , but has of course been involved in way to many accidents, its a shame when any driver loses their drive but maybe this will be a good thing for Tomas , I dont know , I like his speed and commitment , but then Im not paying the bills so Eddie has to do what he thinks is best for his team.
and if he does get the boot is their anyone lined up to replace him at all if anyone ??? |

Cheever intends to test former Atlantic champion Buddy Rice at Kentucky Speedway on the Tuesday or Wednesday before the Michigan event.

ok thanks macdaddy , yes ive seen Buddy run a few atlantic races a year or so ago and he was very impressive, I hope he does well in the test and if he does get the ride over Tomas then I wish him all the luck in the world , surely Tomas has used up all that cars bad luck ???

Well Team Cheever are running 3 cars, the drivers being Eddie Cheever, Tomas Scheckter, and the other one for Buddy Rice. If Tomas Scheckter gets fired, i'm not buying another can a Red Bull!!

Cheever has said he's run up too big a bill just to fire him so he ain't going anywhere for the time being. Blaming Cheever for the crash wasn't his best move granted but he's safe, for now. Honda are reportedly keen on him so Cheever could land a Honda engine deal because of him.

No , Tomas is great . They need to leave him where he is . Drivers like Tomas is just what the IRL needs , he will settle with time .

Tomas Scheckter would do well in CART really, but's he in a competitive drive which is the main thing.

Tomas was like this when we first got him in FVJ then he calmed down and finished third in his first season. If he calms down a bit then he will win the championship next year, my dad just shouted at him I think, maybe Cheever should do the same
