TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Burgess to 888 in 2011

Adrain Burgess is moving to 888 in 2011 according to speedcafe.com.au

Roland Dane is moving aside and Burgess will run the whole show.

What will JC do now?
What will this do to DJR next year?

If I were a DJR supporter I would'nt slash my wrists for 011 just yet. When you look back at 06 onwards,Burgess was going to be the DJR guru/saviour, but looking at results pre 888 chassis, what results as head engineer did he actually achieve compared to previous heads.

Hrrm Polish a Turd all your like it's always going to be a piece of.. well you know where thats going.

The Old Djr chassis were complete rubbish and well out of date, he won't be working with trash at T8 he will be working in the best team, with the best funding and the best designers & engineers behind him.

Im a Ford Fan but T8 is going from strength to strength at the moment and i can't see it slowing down soon.

Its interesting that Mr Dane seems to have replaced himself with 3 people, in Mr Douglas on strategy, in Mr Russell in production engineering and Mr Burgess to lead the whole shooting match. Three, you would have to presume, not inexpensive acquisitions..

There is a school of thought that the way to make yourself stronger, is to make your enemy weaker... maybe Mr Burgess' departure will do just that.

Will DJR stand Mr Burgess down, as SBR did to Mr Little, when departing for the house of 8's in a championship deciding season?

I know it is up to the other teams to catch 888 and beat them, but gee they are making it hard.

Not sure if the total domination of the series that they are after (and not far off achieving) is such a good thing

well i guess that puts an end to the speculation of JC following Burgess, as i don't see JDub or CL going anywhere next year...

Lol, the rest of the field can barely keep up with 2 of them. If theres no spots left on the podium i doubt it'd be worth anyone else showing up (since they can't pull their finger out and catch up)

Could Roland be heading towards a 4-car squad?

Bringing Courtney and Skaife/Webb (Webb has a license) into the fray would be quite clever.

Look for Pirtek and Komatsu on one car and Monster and Norton on the other.

If Beam followed Courtney and Burgess, DJR mightn't have much to sell apart from assets, but then having Jim Beam and Jack Daniels in the Holden camp would seem a bit silly - it would certainly dilute the tribal spirit of Ford vs Holden/Beam vs Jack.

Source ?

There has been no speculation whatsoever about Triple 8 expanding their horizons beyond the operation of "Team Vodafone". Judging by the comments that RD made about Mr Courtney during Bathurst week, I would suspect that it would be unlikely that Courtney will be at Banyo in 2011...

More likely Clayton I would have thought....

As for T8, they seem to be quite happy as a supplier for PMM etc. I am sure they can still continue to supply Ford bits to DJR, the Fiores etc. This would earn a tidy income for the company, allowing it to grow in strength. RD has always had the mantra of attracting the best people to his organisation. This has traditionally been at the expense of other teams...

Certainly, with arguably 2 of the best drivers in the championship in undoubtably the two best cars, Team Vodafone will be very very difficult to stop.

I thought trading post was locked in with Brighty, but could you imagine if Castrol could get JC instead of Murph for the same spend?

Here is a left field thought.... what about with Jeld-Wen or Waverly Fork Lifts money ? or as a 3rd PMM entity alongside the Super Cheap and Castrol entries, either way Mr Burgess would oversee as the supplier of the inventory...just a thought...

Trading Post sponsorship is staying put at BJR for 2011 and 2012 at least.. so nothing available from there.

Yes. PMM haven't done well, so 888 may as well have a go with four.

now Mr Burgess says leaving has nothing to do with the alleged issues at DJR, and wants the team to win this year and be a strong oponent to 888 in years to come.

that is someone i would believe a bit more than an article by Mr Phelps...
