The Historic Touring Cars are racing at that meeting. It is a round of their Avesco series. You should see some beautiful cars and great racing there.

i used to go '97, '98, but its just boring now, and the track design and surface doesnt help much either.
they should run on the reverse track, at night, like the street cars do that would be nice. I only live 15mins away from the track, but i w ould rather be in the Southern subs with the Motorplex and the FFF cruises are, the only good thing about the north is being where some of the RollaBoyz cruises start, but im getting i lil off topic arent i....... so, umm no i wont be there.... |

David, the PowerTour is a group of smaller National Championships which have decided to collaborate and put on a series of major meetings across the country with a wide variety of classes. They have Trucks, NASCAR V8 Stockcars, Daewoos, Super Tourers, Future Tourers etc. |

there is Calder Superspeedway, but it got abandoned, along with the Australian NASCAR series, now they are just basicly using the cars that were left from that and using them for road racing. i think they are around 700hp.

For those going to Barbagallo for the Power Tour and expecting to see trucks - check - last I heard the PT in the west was NOT going to include trucks - just the support categories (same as Wakefield)

I went over there last year (England not Perth!) and I can't see why they wouldn't come over!
But they don't like traveling over there do they? They have all been to Spain on holiday but most of them have never been down the road! Relatives in Scotland have never been to London some have never been to England! But they have all been to Spain! Good luck getting them here! |

10 pounds? With our exchange rate you could probably buy Barbagallo Raceway/several V8 Supercar teams/Tasmania...

If anyone thinks V8 Supercars is boring, compared to Super Touring, they have rocks in their head.

Depends which season you have in mind there White Night. Season 2000 for instance- a complete and utter joke for the ASTC.... that was probably more frustrating than boring though....

They're both average. Give me a full field of Sports Sedans any day...Or for full on no bullshyt dicing, Vees are great. Yes they may not be quick, but the racing's great.
You want carnage? Watch a Vic HQ race once in a while. Not everyday you see 6 HQ's in a conga line.... Last edited by Flaggie; 10 Jun 2002 at 04:29. |

2001 never really happened, and I've blink and missed half the coverage from 2002
Agreed flaggie, State Championship Racing is where it's at. Recently all of the classes have been turning it on in QLD, even the sports sedans have had some 6 car battles for the lead of late... |
