brickkicker should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Silverstone 22 Feb VSCC

Pomeroy Trophy is on this weekend at Silverstone has anyone got any idea what it is? Is it a race a sprint or some sort of trial. Have heard a few different things about it.

From what I can remember it's a sort of a high-speed trial designed to find the best road-going sports car, based on a number of different criteria.

LARDY should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Their is a trial in the morning where they use the luffeild to copse section of the track. then they move onto the national straight for another test, In the afternoon they have 2 or 3 high speed trials that run for about 30 mins, which use the complete national circuit. Although it is a vscc event a lot of the cars are from the historic and classic era.

DarrellB should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If you contact Pam Dearn at the BRDC on 01327 320297 or pam.dearn@brdc.co.uk she will get some tickets out to you. I'm sure they would be more than happy for your help.

The Pom is not always to everyones taste but it tends to be a nice gentle start to the season. Though saying that we have had a few cars hit the wall on the outside of the pit straight and that was during the time trials in the morning.

As previously said the morning only uses the luffield to copse area and the national straight so only these areas are marshalled. If your not on one of the pieces of track it leaves you a free morning to look at the variety of cars entered, anything from vintage Bentleys and similar to Ferrari F40 or Dodge Vipers.

The high speed trials in the afternoon are fully marshalled and consists of three 30 min sessions where the competitors start togehther but are handicapped by requiring different amount of laps to be completed in the time.

Unfortunately due to assisting at the rescue assessments of our trainees I will not be able to make it this year.
