Tom Carnegie
The voice of Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 60 years has passed.
http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/artic...nnial-feature/ Growing up watching qualifying and races at Indy, you could always hear Tom in the background. I made my first trip in Indy in '05 and it was during the twilight of his career, but when I heard him over "the most powerful public address system in the world" it truly sent chills down my spine. He is part of the Speedway. |

I'm afraid that there won't any any new track record at Indy anymore. Rest in peace, sir.

Truly, one the great voices of motor racing.
Glad I got to hear him in his final year at the Speedway. RIP, Tom. |
