Getting Paul Tracy in the IRL

Tracy is clearly frustrated with CART, witness his recent comments concerning CART, Tony George, toyota and honda. If he now feels Mr.Georges pain might there be some reconciliation and an effort to get Tracy in the IRL for 2004? Or will the bad blood from the 2002 Indy 500 make such a move impossible?

I don't think Tracy could be in the same room with Satan without punching him in the mouth. And he's still got a lot of hard feelings towards Mikey, so that's another reason he wouldn't want to be in the IRL.

Nah... It'd be sportscars for PT if CART dried up and blew away. He's certainly not going to leave as long as the series is around, he'd never give Pook that sort of satisfaction.

Yeah, fat chance of that happening. PT would rather sell his soul to the devil rather than work for the idiot grandson.

Which comments are they? I know he's had this exchange with Chris Pook on Friday afetr the qualifying session, but is there anything else going on?

I think Paul will be very keen to stay in CART if he can, but the Players money stops in OCtober and someone would need some more funding to run him. I can see him at Newman-Haas or perhaps Patrick, but most of the teams are reliant on paydrivers.

Okay, I've jsut read the other post about him being ****ed off with CART. Fair enough, but I doubt it'll ultimqately come to anything. At heart, Paul's still a petulant, arrogant selfish so-and-so, and he's jsut looking for attention.

He does not want to be in IRL; the competition is too harsh him to ever win a championship.

I couldn't see it happenning to be honest, he's too much of a road racer to do that and he's made his position quite clear plenty of times.

Mind you wasn't that the case with Dario?

No, it's not going to happen. If he doesn't go to Nascar, he'll go to sportscars, which frankly, I wouldnt mind.

No, I don't think Tracy is scared of racing against front runners such as "Little" Al and Tora Takagi....

I think Paul is more scared about not racing anywhere. As CART melts down he might have to suck it up and forget about turning right.

To be honest, I think if Paul was going to give up turning right, he'd be in NASCAR.

Yeah, but it's exactly that sort of bullplop from CobraJet that ensures PT will NEVER, EVER sit behind the wheel of a crapwagon again. He'd be forced into the same argument on almost a daily basis.

Hilarious Jay! Downforce, why is it that you always think about taking posts off this site when they don't go your way? Variety is the spice of life. Grow up!

Well, if only the threads which talk about how great the IRL racing is were kept, this forum would be even more inhabited with tumbleweed.

All right you two, you've made your point. If you don't like the IRL, then don't watch it. It's as simple as that.

Let's make an attempt to get back on topic.

All I was saying is: IRL has quality, when CART has lost all its star drivers.

As far as i'm concerned it's the racing that counts, not who is driving. The IRL has had quality racing in the last few years, especially in 2001.

On Paul Tracy, as much as he went on about it last year, if he was offered a good enough deal he'd go IRL.
