Montoya's driving: Second session
Yipes!!! Did anyone else see the Colombian using the whole track and then some??? Absolutely incredible car control!
I love watching this guy! The circuit's total pants for racing, though. Good for time trials, but there won't be anyplace to pass. Look for some kamikaze moves in turn one and going into the chicane after the hairpin. |

Now it'd be nice if the FW24 was a decent chassis so he'd be able to go for the win - pole position and then fading in the race with shot tyres is getting boring

Incredible!!!!!
Actually I haven't seen him, but nothing surprises me anymore. After I've learned that Silverstone 2002 (starting from pole, finishing 3rd being beaten by the guy who started the race from LAST place on grid) was one great success.... only being outpaced by the other 3 top cars, Ferraris excluded and Eddie Irvine's Jaguar is just great car control....... |

Sorry, didnt see practice. But didnt Ralf have a quicker time (im not sure, i only glanced at the results). I think people sometimes confuse speed with entertainment. You would rarely see Mika power slide, but he was DAMN quick. He does seem to have great car control though.

Yeah....that is what I remember of him in Cart. Always gives 110%. Great to watch... even if he does end up spinnning it.
But, that true z... with the exception of some corners and situations, when you see a driver powerslide in F1 these days, he is usually losing time. That wasn't always true though... Last edited by Jay; 26 Jul 2002 at 13:17. |

Racing = only entertainment? I see, but in that case why do we have World Championships anyway? Heck, why to race at all? Let's bring them every 2 weeks to do some demonstration laps and that's it.

I dont think many people confuse speed with entertainment , Having the abiltiy to catch a car on it limit like Juan has is something that they all dont have . , well , maybe they do , but he just puts it there and sorts it out . Juan can drive like a mad man one day , and then very precise another , so with him we get the best of both worlds . Afterall , Juans speed cant be questioned with his recent record of poles .
