Thunder in the Park, donny 9th-11th Aug

This is looking like a good weekend

minardi 2 seaters... euro F3000.. eurokart (wotever they are!).. Formula Saloons, BARC FRenault.. damon hill, bryan Herta.. and some other things!

Anyone going?
i think its only a tenner to get in, which actually is surprisingly reasonable!!

I am going. It's not far from us. Something different I suppose. We are only doing on the Sunday.

The websites (Donington and www.thunderinthepark.com) don't seem that helpful.

Does anyone know anything about a concert at this event, or do they just like showing a picture of Damon with a guitar?

badoer fan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I was going to go, but then I had a better offer really, so I ain't now. I don't see how they're gonna string out the Minardi thing over 3 days, I'm not really interested in all the rest. I would have taken boyf if it was just one day like last year.

*still thinking of way to get proof of having gone to donny to show to oarents, even though isn't going*

I would go but my impressions of last year's event (as great as it was) was that it was there to impress sponsors... a bit too corporate... There's only so much excitement to be had from Minardi 2-seaters, and the other stuff doesn't really excite me!!!

i'll stick with knockhill. it's a nice cheap day out, and if it's nice weather it'll be great. the euro f3000 will be good.

Lets nort forget that there is still some serious racing between the pretty F1 bits, not only is there Euro F3000 there is FIA Karts, Formula Palmer Audi, BMW's, Formula Renault and Formula Saloons, and I think that all of these race on the Sunday.

It would be nice if the press an TV give the smaller championships some coverage.

Lets hope that our contribution and effort in racing is appreciated by the circuit and organisers and we are not just shoved on the far side of the circuit and treated as second class competitors !!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have an accurate timetable? Our friends in the Marshalls Forum have been playing "hunt the lunchbreak" without much success.

That's ridiculous! I am all for squeezing as much as possible into the day, but starting races at 6.30 in the evening - IF all goes to plan throughout the day ?! Madness. Especially as they are the two best races of the weekend...

It was said on Radio 2 this morning that there is a Damon and the Conrods concert at Donington during thunder in the park. But it didn't say when.

I'm not sure that there will be any TV coverage of the event (well not live at least), I bet they have a bit about it on ITV at the next GP).

I got an email about the concert from Donington:

Quote:
from Donington
The concert is taking place on the Saturday and the Sunday at approx 5.30pm on both days. It will be situated in paddock 3.
Guests will include Damon Hill and The Con Rods and special Guests. It will finish approx 7.30pm.
