2006 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition - Announcement and Rulebook
Welcome to the 2006 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition! We're entering on a new season to challenge again your accuracies on GP2 Series results.
As we know, GP2 TWPC is an interforum competition, and this year will be opened to users of eight forums: we're proud to welcome F1Central, F1Latam and GlobalF1 into the competition, and to mantain it in on all forums who were involved in the 2005 edition: Ten-Tenths, Los Tuercas, Velocidad-TotalF1, Thef1 and Corsadigital. The Competition now has three championships: one for individuals, other of the forums, and the Two Worlds Challenge, where the sum of four American forums (Corsadigital, F1Latam, Los Tuercas and Velocidad-Total F1) and the sum of four European forums (F1Central, GlobalF1, Ten-Tenths and Thef1) will compete to show whose of the Two Worlds, the Old or the New, knows better the march of GP2 runnings. Champion of individuals will be awarded with a prize to be announced. More details will be added soon in this same thread into the Rulebook of the 2006 GP2 TWPC. Well, the green light has turned on, the Competition has started! Enter HERE to post your 2006 GP2 Championship predictions Enter HERE to post your predictions of first GP2 race weekend at Valencia |

Rulebook of the 2006 GP2 TWPC
Here it is, the
RULEBOOK OF THE 2006 GP2 TWO WORLDS PREDICTION COMPETITION Overview This GP2 competition is opened to all users of eight forums: Corsadigital.com, F1Central.com, F1Latam.com, GlobalF1.net, Los-Tuercas.com.ar, Ten-Tenths.com, Thef1.com and Velocidad-TotalF1.com, challenging all them about their accuracies in GP2 predictions. Round to round, which can aboard a GP2 weekend or a special GP2 event, the concursant could enter their predictions in a period of time before that weekend or event happens. A small lapse of time after each round, the results will be processed and published, both in a round report and a Excel tablesheet. Each round will have a winner, and the sum of all rounds will give us a champion. There will be mentions for each best forum scorer, but there will be only one champion, who will be awarded by a prize, an object related to motorsport. Is important to remark that each forum user represent not only themselves, but the forum they used to put the predictions. Then there is too a forum championship, where each forum scores in each round the sum of the results of all their users, and the Two Worlds Challenge, where the sum of European-based forums will challenge against the sum of American-based forums. Championship norms of both championships are the same as in users championship, but there will be no material prize for the winning forum, just glory. How to enter Before GP2 season, there will released the first round and a special Championship round, described later in this rulebook; they'll have defined opening and closing dates, and in the period of time between them, all users of the forums involved in this Competition can post their predictions. During GP2 season, each round will be opened on Friday, one week before the GP2 weekend. During this time, all users of the forums involved in this Competition can post their weekend predictions, until the day of the qualifying of the first race. In both cases, the deadline will be set on 4:00 AM GMT (hour of London, UK) of the day when the round closes. You could check opening and closing dates in the calendar posted below this rulebook. You must all make sure to post your predictions in such a manner that we can understand who you are picking for which position. If we have any doubt whatsoever, your prediction could be partially or totally annulled. Above all though, this is a fun competition, so we will do our best to contact you if we are in doubt over who you have selected, and you will then be given the opportunity to clarify your predictions, ever before the deadline of the round where that happens. After posting your entry, you have the opportunity to revise your choices before the close of a Competition round. Please make it clear in any additional post (at Corsadigital or Ten-Tenhts) or edited post (in the rest of the forums) on the thread that you are revising your choices. If you are unable to post your picks in the predictions thread for technical problems, you can send it to me via e-mail to this direction: nkorzan@yahoo.com.ar. If you are going to be absent, and thus not be able to post your predictions during the period when a round thread will be open, you can post your predictions in advance, either in the previous predictions thread (EG: post predictions for Barcelona at Imola round), or send it to me via PM or email. In all these cases, received predictions will be posted on the respective round thread by the GP2 TWPC Admin as soon as possible after their reception. Users are not able to post predictions in name of other concursants. Finally, a note about GP2 weekend predictions: when a concursant predicts a driver who left his seat, in the predictions usually we will consider the car he had raced, no matter who drives that car. There is one exception: when the driver who left his car goes to another team to drive with their car. Predictions, Point Scoring and Results In this Competition, normally you have to predict all the items of each GP2 race weekend that reward points: the Friday Pole, the top 8 results of the first race, the top 6 results of the second race, and the fastest lap scorers of both races. In the race results, you got one point per driver correctly predicted, or two in each case this driver finishes in the position you predicted. In the pole and fastest lap scorers predictions, you got one point for each item correctly predicted (one for poleman, one for Race 1 FL scorer, one for Race 2 FL scorer). Fastest Lap scorers will be considered those who win championship points for this in the GP2 Series. In addition, before the 12 rounds about each GP2 weekend, there will be one special round before the GP2 season, about the top 8 drivers in the final standings of the 2006 GP2 Drivers Championship. Point scoring of this round will be alike race result predictions (2 points for each correct prediction in correct position, 1 point for each correct prediction in other position than predicted). When the races/events involved in each round are finished, the results will be processed in an Excel sheet specially prepared to calculate them, and released in a result report; all in a period up to 72 hours after the definition of each round. You can access to the Excel sheet at this web address: http://perso.wanadoo.es/gp2twpc/2006GP2TWPC.zip, but usually you'll have this link with each round result reports. All round results will be based on the official GP2 race and championship results announced on the official GP2 Series website, gp2series.com. Championships and Prizes Now you know that there will be round winners, and the sum of all rounds will give us a champion. But it could be more than one user with most quantity of points. Then, in case of tie, the break will be defined by the most points scored in a round, if the tie persists the tie-breaker will be the second best point scoring, if it still persists it will be the third best point scoring... until the champion arises. The champion will be awarded by a prize, an object related to motorsport that will be announced during the season.. This prize will be given to the Competition champion in a period of 60 days after the finish of this Competition, next September 10th. Forum Matters Each forum user represent not only themselves, but the forum they used to put the predictions. If you're present in more than one forum involved in this Competition (like me, Mekola) you must decide which forum you'll represent. In my case, I'll be marked as a Corsadigital forum user. For identify reasons, forum users could be marked in two forms: his name followed by an abreviature put in parenthesis -User (##)-, in forum reports, or written in a certain colour, in Excel sheets. There are the identify codes: Corsadigital: User (CO) or magenta F1Central: User (CE) or purple F1Latam: User (LA) or dark yellow GlobalF1: User (GL) or dark blue Los Tuercas: User (LT) or dark green Ten-Tenths: User (TT) or blue Thef1: User (TH) or red Velocidad-TotalF1: User (VT) or dark red Aside the users championship, there is a forum championship, where each forum scores in each round the sum of the results of all their users; then if each forum has more users involved in the Competition, more chances has to win it. Alas, forums will be classified in two groups: "Old World" European-based forums (F1Central.com, GlobalF1.net, Thef1.com and Ten-Tenths.com) and "New World" American-based ones (Corsadigital.com, F1Latam.com, Los-Tuercas.com.ar y Velocidad-TotalF1.com); these groups will compete in the Two Worlds Challenge to show whose of the Worlds, the Old or the New, will perform better in the Competition. The norms of the forum championship and the Two Worlds Challenge are alike users championship, except that will be no material prize for the winner, just glory. Conclusion and Acknowledgements This is a fun competition, that gave forum users the opportunity to improve their knowledge about GP2 Series, and know the possible F1 stars of the future. If you have any problems to understand Competition rules, you can send your inquiries via e-mail to: nkorzan@yahoo.com.ar. This Competition is not related to GP2 Series organizators, even in this championship or the prizes, then they haven't any responsability about the development or delivery of the champion prize. At the end, I thank you the people that, with their interest, contributed to the existence of this Competition: - ChevroPablo (Los-Tuercas.com.ar forum moderator); - Chris Allen (GlobalF1.net forum administrator); - Dany Flageole "DanFlag" (formulagp2.com principal and Ten-Tenths.com forum moderator); - David Plaza (Thef1.com Actuality forum coordinator); - Henry-F1 (F1Latam.com forum moderator); - Joselo (Corsadigital.com forum coordinator) - Mercuryg (F1Central.com forum administrator); - Riquii (F1Latam.com forum moderator); - Sammyed (Velocidad-TotalF1.com forum moderator) - Titrisol (Velocidad-TotalF1.com forum moderator); And all users who will enter in this Competition. Happy motoring... and GOOD SHOW!!! Mekola - GP2 TWPC Admin |

ATTENTION: New forum included in the Competition
ATTENTION: New forum included in the Competition
We're proud to announce that the forum Nuestro Foro F1 has entered into our Competition. This forum was recently created by people that used to be at Corsadigital until few weeks ago. A crissis happened into that forum, that produced a split among them, thus the new forum was created. Generally, we didn't include forums when the competition is running, but it was a cause of force majeure. We gratefully thank to Carlos Vº and DeLorean, principals of that forum, for the income. |

ATTENTION: About forum representations
ATTENTION: About forum representations
In GP2 TWPC Rulebook, it's stated that "each forum user represent not only themselves, but the forum they used to put the predictions". In 2005, the Competition used a criteria where the user represented only one forum for the entire year, independent where and how he could post the predictions. It was one cas with user Ethan, who posted first at Corsadigital forum and later at VT-F1; he finally decided to represent the second forum, and all his 2005 points were computed there for the forums championship. This criteria was amended: now the forum user could change represented forum during the year, BUT the points he scored before the move will be considered, in the forum championship, by the forum he had left. As in real life, when a driver changes a team at mid-season on a championship. Respect to this: - If a user wants to change forum representation, he should announce it to GP2 TWPC Admin, with the exception of force majeure, in the case that the forumer can't write again in the forum he used to represent. - Provisional forum changes, like post the predictions in other forum because the represented forum is temporarily down, won't be considereded as forum representation change, unless it'll be announced to GP2 TWPC Admin. - In reports of results and in the statistic table of season standings, user will be marked with the forum representation he will have at this moment. |

ATTENTION: Corsadigital forum goes temporarily down
ATTENTION: Corsadigital forum goes temporarily down
Due to the harsh crissis that involved moderators and several forum users of Corsadigital, rulers of this website has decided to close down their forum since the end of this month. The duration of the closing is undefined, but it could be temporarily. Nonetheless, Corsadigital website will remain active. Then, all users that represents Corsadigital are invited to continue participating on GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition representing one of the other eight forums involved in: Ten-Tenths, GlobalF1, Update F1 (in English); Los Tuercas, Velocidad-TotalF1, Thef1, F1Latam, Nuestro Foro F1 (in Spanish). TDM GP2 Admin (that's me), who represented Corsadigital, will switch to Velocidad-Total F1 forum since round 8 (Hockenheim) onwards. |
