Wow, so much happening in the last 24 hours. At least it has answered some questions, such as what Fabian will do next.

Looks like a tough year ahead for Erebus... 2 rookie(ish) drivers likely, with Brown confirmed and Kostecki being tipped to join him, also the key senior engineering staff departed, potentially losing their primary sponsor as well could leave them underfunded.
I wish them the best of luck.

So is that now Alex Davo gone because Will Davo took Coulthard's spot?
Ironic since it was Alex who won out and Will lost his drive last season.

Both drivers and their engineers alongside some key staff have left the team. Abandoning a sinking ship?

It certainly wasn’t a happy camp this year, which is a shame as they were become a real force giving the main contenders a hard time. Sadly I think we’ll see them slipping further back down the grid.

Holdsworth gone.

https://autoaction.com.au/2020/12/17...set-to-bow-out

4th car was to be piloted by Randle with sponsorship from Castrol and Sky Sands.

Teams voted against Tiickford obtaining a 25th rec, as it would affect their income. Fair enough.

This was disappointing to read.

"Tickford had proposed running Randle as a permanent wildcard without a REC and without earning revenue, but that too was rejected"

I don't think the ship is sinking, just the Reynolds issue has a flow on effect. His engineer wants to continue working with him, as does the sponsor.

Anton had already been approached by DJR long before the Reynolds issue.

All conjecture on my part, is Erebus just treading water till late 2021 for Paul Morris to buy out/takeover the team?
Ready for Gen3 in 2022 with Kostecki and Feeney in 888 built Camaros?

Short sighted, selfish and stupid. Randle isn't exactly a plodder and more cars on the grid is always good. It's a shame REC incentivises self-interest.

At least it shows confidence in the series itself, that people want in

It's a highly likely proposition but will the team hold together until then? Irrespective of 2022, Barry needs to pull himself together and think about the long term effect of his 'management style'.

At what number would the REC holders allow the purchase of an existing REC?

20 cars, 15 cars, 10 cars?

Hardly in the spirit of why the REC were introduced.

Reining Super 2 Champion, backing from a global sponsor in Castrol, run out of a front running team that has manufacture ties.
Willing to race without any rec income.

Management should have rapped the knuckles of the opposing teams and allowed it. Then again the same management support Team Sydney....

The only other reason I can see. Is they didn't want Blanchard's team to run solo at end of pit lane?

Yes. There should be one dictator on top of the series.
The teams dont decide for the series they decide for their teams advantage.

Here's hoping Barry and Betty can get on the same page as the rest of the team, working as one again so they can make a real fist of it this season

So much going on!

With regard to Tickford, wasn’t Holdsworth halfway through his 2 year contract?
Really sad to see.

Yeah well that's been the whole rationale behind RECs since day one. Teams looking after their own bottom line. The consequence has been a closed shop for 25 years.

Randle will drive for Tickford

At Bathurst as a co-driver

So is Holdsworth saved then?

What makes you think that ? They've got Waters, Le Brocq and Courtney. Slade/Cooldrive will take the 4th spot in the garage.

It doesn't change anything in regard of Holdsworth. I reckon he won't be on the grid next year. Unless he moves to Team Sydney maybe?

Speedcafe reporting Holdsworth departing Tickford racing.

Hopefully Lethal Lee can pickup a codriver slot for Bathurst.
