I think you are right. Maybe done on purpose to drag people in by showcasing people we’ve heard of. Albeit one that are slower!

Cannot see 250000 spectators allowed by Sept.

Enjoying more than I thought I would. Not missing the LMP1 or hybrid.

Would have liked a stream with locked views from grandstands / corners

Actually I think they wanted to have the real racers - the AM racers in the car at the start to spice things up. The SIM racers, who are the pros here, would almost all do 10 laps each - the Real racers have mostly all done 9 laps... So there is a demonstration of some real underlying skill there.

Just hope the ACO don't drop LMP1 from the top class after this!!

Track and Trace needs to be in place and working before we can expect an event like Le Mans to take place in real.

Viewers have dropped from 17K to 14K. Not surprised, doesn't float my boat at all. Only thing it does is rub it in that I'm stuck in Balconia instead of experiencing the real thing.
