Christmas/birthday present
Just about to leave for my present, going to watch the recording of the first show of this years top gear, wearing my best shirt and hat hoping that if james may fails to show i will be able to stand in for him

I saw a clip of the "Evening with Top Gear" video and Clarkson said that the filming for Episode 1 wasn't finished. Even with the need to keep the news sketch somewhat topical I didn't think they left it this late.

I suspect the only time we'll get a glimpse of you is the top-down pan to the JC at the beginning of the show

they've always filmed the studio stuff on the wednesday before the sunday broadcast, haven't they?

Exactly. With some exceptions (guests with busy schedules who get interviewed weeks in advance and/or laps done earlier due to weather conditions).

Just got home, 850 mostly blokes in dark coats, spent 2 and a half hours standing around a freezing car park with no interesting cars to look at before being taken to the studio, once there it looked very familiar with the old toyota pick up and the xjs train replacement, there for about 4 hours with all the usual features the news are race through st petersberg and a feature on the new lambo, you might see me when Richard Hammond stands by the old white lambo, but as said they put all the women in the front and even my hat, fluffy white hair and paisley shirt did not get me any close ups, Good day out but it was very cold even in the hanger. Watch the show on Sunday and let me know if anyone spots me. The star in a reasonably priced car was silly as Ed Sheeran had never driven a car before and probably 90% of the normal viewers will not know who he is

I played with the light levels but it didn't make the picture much clearer. When it's broadcast/uploaded in HD we'll get a chance to see you in better detail, like it or not ...

Yes they made a point of saying so while we were there, noticed that it did not make the show but we were there for 4 hours and quite a lot of their comments and banter failed to show including most of the Ed Sheeran stuff he was quite boring

Happy to provide soft drink if you prefer will be on TR from tuesday at the latest
