Olivier Panis has signed for BAR, Jenson Button for Benetton, both on two year deals. Whoever will get the Williams seat alongside Ralfie?
So with these positions sorted out that leaves Arrows, Sauber, Jaguar(1 seat), Minardi and Prost to sort out their drivers. So... Ferrari - MS and Rubinho Mclaren - DC and Mika Williams - Ralf and ? Benetton - Fisi and Bunson Jordan - Frentzen and Trulli Jaguar - Irvine and Burti? Prost - Alesi and ? Sauber - Salo and Zonta? Minardi - Mazzacane? and Diniz? Arrows - de la Rosa?/Verstappen?/Zonta? |

Well, next season is going to be fun with all this driver changes, but i think the biggest hole to fill is button´s. Do you think montoya will be in f1 next season or will it be someone else, but from where, that´s another problem, would it be a formula one driver, a f3000, or what?.

Monotoya is a done deal - rumour is it'll be announced at Spa.
I can't believe Williams would bother getting rid of Button to replace him with anyone other than JPM. |

What's supprising? Everyone has been saying Montoya will be at Williams for the past 3 months.
As for the others, Zonta confirmed at Sauber this week. The more interesting questions are; Will Salo go to Toyota to test, or race with Sauber? Who on earth is going to want to go to Prost? Will Burti take the second Jag seat? Are Minardi so short of cash that they'll take Diniz and Mazzacane next year? (and waste a potentially strong package) Will Peugeot engines be any better when they are called ATM's? |

Angst, I appreciated your sarcasm.
Marshall, the latest thinking on Salo's choices are that he will fill BOTH roles-testing for Toyota and racing for Sauber. Though Burti may have potential, I would really like to see a top line driver at Jag. The rumours of Alesi joining the green team may still come true. Its the Prost seats that are so interesting-who will be willing to commit career suicide? |

Mazzacane and Diniz must NOT drive for Minardi in 2001. Even with Renault engines, the cars will be WASTED on those two drivers. Gene and Sarrazin/Badoer/Alonso should be the drivers.

Montoya will be announced officially at the USGP to get the maximum mileage out of it with the American fans. (CART people generally like Montoya.)
I still wonder if Zonta will end up at Arrows but Sauber is okay with me. Diniz at Prost - if so, I assume Alesi will be far away. I can't see them working together no matter how much Alesi likes Alain ... I hear the Stick Insect is going to get the job of McLaren tester. And I also hear that Tagaki is going to be the new tester at BAR - to be brought in as the No. 2 car should Panis prove to be faster than Jacques ... |

"CART people generally like Montoya" - Not if they've dealt with him.
No, it is not a surprise. Although the question still remains about Montoya's contract. How much? How long? |

Bunsen Jetton: Now busy frantically revising his signature wardrobe and personalized cell phone colours for next year.
I am sure he will drive some good races, but I bet we see him in a lot of Benetton ads for his wardrobe sense. |

I have to say I think the Benettons will be very strong next season - not only will they have the Renault engines, but also two top drivers.

Hang on!! Just what is so horrendous about Wurz going to Minardi? I think I must be the only person who thinks this guy's got talent. It just needs to be directed in the right way. I personally think he'd destroy Gené and CERTAINLY Mazzacane (who isn't that bad either)

Gene would be more than competition for Wurz. As for Mazzacane... oh dear oh dear oh dear...

Both Gene and Macacane are paying their ride in Minardi. They are not in F1 for their talents. They are in F1 because they are paying for it
