peter briggs should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As of today I can confirm that Carly will not be in the BTCC and it is very doubtfull that we will find the budget to compete, it is a great shame as the BMW has very good reliability and with a good driver has an excellent chance of being in the top three at the seasons end.

I didn't quite understand the press release? So a pair of 3 doors will race for '04? The 5drs won't appear until '05? Or will they appear later in the year?

Alessandro Balzan has signed with JAS Motorsport to do ETCC, two first races with Civic and then with new Accord.

Today and yesterday Autodelta,Team Oregon,Seat Sport and BMW Team Great Britian tested their cars at Valencia.Resulth were quite interesting:
1.Tarquini & Farfus-1:42:2
3.Diefenbacher & Prialux-1:42:5
4.Gene-1:42:6
5.Bartyan & Rangoni-1:42:7
7.Tavano-1:42:9
8.Giovanardi-1:43:4(old tyres)
Once again,BMW will stay on the track and keep testing. They are working hard, thats for sure.

Nice performance from Seat-I hope they'll be able to keep in shape. If they do,season will be awesome :-)

Oregon drivers used the same car.Are Tavano and Rangoni already confirmed for 2004 ?

ATF should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2004 is looking good. 6 different manufacturers will be represented, is that the most in the new ETCC? The Ford Focuses will be privateers so will not be able to score for the manufacturers cup but what about JAS Honda and Peugeot? Are they factory entries?

Good to see these cars and drivers in ETCC , but I have one question: I thought that only sedans are allowed to race in ETCC?

Hmm FIRE,is Civic a sedan?I dont think so
There nothing about type of body in S2000 technical regulations(at least I haven't seen anytning). If i remeber right, somebody wrote over here, that Civic was allowed to ETCC on some special rules, and so will be with Pug.Am I right?

Ford Focus will run too with some special rules, I think.

ETCC rules say only: "Large scale series production touring cars modified by a kit. The engine used must be derived from the homologated model modified by the kit. At least 2500 fully identical units must have been produced in 12 consecutive months and homologated by the FIA in Production cars (Group N)."

The 307 they'll use in ETCC will be a 5 door so no problem their. For testing they'll start with the 3 door the team raced last year.
