With Deepest Regret - Nikki Stevens

MSA British Rallycross Championship coordinator Nikki Stevens died last Thursday (June 22), she was 41-years-old and had been admitted to hospital on Tuesday with what was diagnosed as a liver infection and septic shock.

In addition to her role in the BRC, Stevens led the event secretarial team for the British Rallycross Drivers Association and was one of the few females to hold a Clerk of the Course licence (for racing and rallycross). She was also a leading organiser, as well a company director, within the SEMSEC organisation running events at Lydden and Brands Hatch.

Stevens shared her lifelong passion for motor sport with her brother, Andy, with whom she had returned from their annual pilgrimage to LeMans when she was taken ill.

Despite her professionalism, Stevens never lost sight of the fact that motor sport was fun and had instigated the Chardonnay Club which marked the end of Rallycross events by uncorking a bottle or two, shared between members of her organising team.

On behalf of all its members, the BRDA extends sympathies to Nikki’s mother and brother, her family and countless friends in motor sport

Funeral Service at Barham Crematorium at 1400 on Thursday July 6.

Family flowers only. Donations to Motorsport Safety Fun or Cancer Research UK.

When i was told about you Nikki i just could not believe what i was hearing!
We go back a long long way back to the days of production rallycross
based at Lydden over 18 years!
Nikki you was so down to earth , said what you thought , didnt care and a real petrol head through and through .
You will be truely missed by so many people.
Thursday was a truely sad day RIP Nik .
My deepest sympathy to the Stevens family at this very sad time.

It had often been my priviledge to work as Chief Startline marshal at Lydden under Nikki's watchful eye as SEMSEC Clerk of the Course. Nikki would be in the control tower and I would be just feet away outside.

Her smile and infectious laugh will long be remembered by all those who knew her. Not usually lost for words, I am on this very sad occasion.

Condolences to all of Nikki's family and in particular to Andy.

Desperately sad news. Rallycross in particular and motorsport in general will be poorer without Nikki's enthusiasm and dedication.

Our thoughts are with Andy and the rest of the Stevens family.

I didn't know anything about this sad news until moments ago whizzing through MN after popped through my letterbox-I'm stunned at the terrible loss. It was only a short while ago Nikki was saying to me how much she was looking forward to Le Mans mingled with that now famous laugh of hers-Lydden (and everywhere) will be sadly a quieter place without that laugh. My thoughts are with you all. Baz
