Dave Weston should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Peter Weston - Flag Marshal

It is with regret that I have to announce that my father, Peter Weston - Flag marshal for BARC & CCRC, was taken ill at Heathrow on the return from Abu Dhabi at the weekend. We have learned that he has a serious illness which doctors are still investigating however he will no longer be able to race again, and potentially not even marshal from now on.

Many of you will know dad from his several years racing in the Castle Combe Saloons and many more from the 37 years he has spent on the bank, marshalling at various circuits around the UK.

I would be grateful if you would join me in wishing dad a speedy recovery, and quick return to the track as a spectator.

Thanks

Dave Weston

I have known Peter ever since he started marshalling at Castle Combe and am very sorry to read here of his illness. I know how much his involvement in motorsport has meant to him over all these years and hope that he makes a speedy recovery.

If this is the Peter Weston (MG Metro driver) that I used to race with in the Phoenix Petroleum challenge many many years ago then please pass on my regards. He probably won't remember me, however Peter is a figure that I can always remember.

If it isn't, then pass on my regards anyhow!

Dave, please pass on my best wishes and prayers to your dad. We have spent many happy days marshalling together over the years, and it is always a pleasure to see him in the paddock and out on the track.

Here is hoping for a full recovery
