How strange it is that this thread is dead ever since the 7th of December whilst there should be all kinds of buzzing going 'round this team.
I mean, when is the new TS040 gonna show? It must be running tests here and there but there's absolutely nothing to be found about her...

Anyone's got any news?

I think the news is that there's no news. January is when the car is meant to roll out for the first time.

Latest Motor Fan Illustrated magazine will feature Toyota TS030 engine.
It seems that the inner parts of TS030 engine are exhibited.

Very interesting, this means that the TS040 engine will definitely be a big departure from the TS030's V8. Otherwise Toyota wouldn't allow secrets such as engine internals to be shared in a motorsports magazine.

I remember Vasselon did said that they will stick to the mature powertrain of 3.4 V8 plus capacitor

Rumor was that TMG would develop a larger capacity version of that engine.

Whether or not it'll be based exactly on the RV8 family or will be an "addition" to the family (like Nissan did with the VHR engines, some were purpose built engines, some were based on the VH and VK V8 road engines) is currently unknown.

Wurz just put on Twitter he is off to cologne and TMG for a seat fitting in the new TS040. Guess they have at least one tub ready and are on schedule for a January debut.

Not sure where to put it, but toyota's twitter responded to a question about the TS040's unviel saying late march https://mobile.twitter.com/Toyota_Hy...48748431708161 well, i guess that means the tests will be private or this is wrong.
