I think I would have had a competitor pass from the touring car supports when I worked for John Markey, but generally by bluff and bullshit, as well as if need be tagging on close to a group of important people, or waiting for the security to be talking to some other about to be turned away person, slipping past unnoticed and having 'selective hearing', just walking on if I got called out. Sadly it does not work these days.

Re post 2283 - I'd really love to find a Series 1 Rapier like your third picture, but they have either all rotted away or are being hoarded by owners.

I seem to recall seeing this one in the paddock at Silverstone a couple of years back, the first I'd seen in the flesh for ages. I keep watching the ads just in case.

Brian the Rapier is in it's Mille Miglia rainment, and was my ride to the circuit that day.
I was a passenger and the owner is/was John Clarke a Morgan racer now living in Australia. I will contact John and find out what happened to the car, did it go with him, sold or what?

You may well know John as he raced an Historic Morgan as below.
