tocatrucky should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
DTM cars with T-numbers

Through searching I've come across images of 90s DTM cars wearing their usual race number with a letter T such as T10 on Jacques Laffite's Mercedes here at Singen 1991

And T19 Armin Hahne's BMW at Nürburgring 1992

I can't find any reference to the T online, some sort of non-championship race?

IIRC DTM rules at the time allowed drivers who'd had a DNF in Race 1 to use the team's spare car for Race 2, if their race car couldn't be fixed between the two races.

So strange to see the cars specifically labelled as such.

Nor really that strange. Spare cars in sportscar & Indycar racing also carried T numbers.

I don't recall maany showing T-then the drivers usual entry number on the door (or wing) numberboard. Do you have any examples to share?

To prove your point here is a pic of Al Unser at the 1992 Indy 500. Probably on a practice or qualifying day. the Menard-Conseca Lola-Buick

From the Indycar website

or from 1990 John Paul Jnr ATEC Lola Buick#93

From 1988 Bobby Rahal Budweiser Lola Judd #4(T)

I saw a pic of Mike Thackwell in an F3000 Ralt with a 'T' on it. Think it was at one of the 1985 races.
