I assume the Friday evening parade of 'famous' cars is at the track rather than part of the city centre drivers' parade?

In other news, I commissioned my fridge, power pack and solar panel last weekend. Seems the fridge doesn't drain the power pack more than the solar panel charging rate. Obviously needs sunlight of some kind but looks like my beer will be cold.

It is certainly getting close to the time were I need to start replacing food removed from the freezer with ice making receptacles to ensure a supply of cold beverages mid-June.

I've had few problems in recent years getting to, from and around the circuit other than race night last year. But there are going to be a lot of 'displaced' people at the track this year, people forced to camp and/or park in places where they've not camped/parked before. Good signage and people on hand to direct lost souls will be pretty important. It's a problem of their own making though....

Yes, I too wrote a thesis on traffic management around the periphery of the circuit and sent it to them.
I do think they're limited in what they can do about traffic circulation, and they've effectively admitted that by asking us to put our ideas in their 'suggestions box'. It's hard to know, of course, but I do wonder if the change of use of much of the 'Bleu' area might actually improve traffic flow on Boulevard des Italiens during the race. Remains to be seen, but there's definitely the likelihood we're all going to get stuck in the 24 Heures de Gridlock too. Probably best to all take a wander down to Tertre Rouge and partake in the 24 Heures des Bieres with Simon instead...? |

(* Ironically, I don't recall any of the bollarded traffic management there last year during race night. Possibly because of the insanity of using the blanc car park as a coach stop point and possibly because of the moron who I had to follow for about an hour who was constantly revving his engine....). It would be a real pain if they did, although bearing in mind that most of us will be parking in Panorama (nee Rouge) or Expo would there be other ways around it?

Surely they should know in advance not to cause anymore traffic disruption in that aera at that time. Hopefully it won't be too hard for you guys.

I'm not sure that you're totally up to speed with what the ACO have been up to in the run up to this year's race......

the best thing about camping at TR is that in less than 1 minute from where we camp we are standing looking at the race track from the dunlop bridge to tertre rouge corner. Traffic queue are not a problem for us.

Agree it’s great to see some of the Wed Thur and Sat am track stuff without a full on trip. So worth the extra as good having a beer or breakfast trackside and 2 mins to better view from banking inside Porsche curves.
TR a bit closer to most of the GSs though |

Is the survey a derrière couvrant exercise?
Without a super efficient park and ride and loads of free parking being added or an extended fast tram type transit system (not possible) surely changing all the main road and parking is just going to badly wrong from midday on Saturday or earlier Sold out months ago so survey could have been done months ago - probably just over 30 working days to go now. |

The huge problem this year is that the ACO told no-one what they were going to do. Even as late as 2-3 days before camping/parking went on sale, they were still telling me (direct by email) that parking blanc would still be available. They must have known the changes they were going to make a very long time ago but not only kept it all to themselves but didn't even tell their staff....
