Potential hydrogen class cars will be demonstrated again this year. This time with a hydrogen combustion engine from Alpine as well as the H24 fuel cell engined car (source: racecar engineering) .

For me the hydrogen cars need to be better than the effort from a year or two ago. That thing while technically brilliant was slow, silent and looked hideous. Watching the hydrogen Yaris videos online from Toyotas latest efforts though fills me with hope. The engine sounds like a "normal" petrol engine, is cleaner than petrol and there is no aesthetic difference to the normal Yaris. Whether or not this translates over to motorsport is to be seen but if we can continue with the noise, performance and aesthetic aspects of the current WEC cars then whats not to like?

You can already feel the EV world starting to fall apart if you listen closely enough!

The one thing that has been a major problem for them in racing has been the battery: it's not quick fillable, nor "hot-swappable". This limits what EVs can do in a racing sense. This is why Hybrids have taken ahold, especially in Formula 1 and Sportscar (Hypercar). |

The thing is I understand why you feel you must constantly redirect people, but threads on some parts of this forum re utterly dead, this one is not.
If understand your need for "order", but threads are organic, they include talk of racing and on topic but also of other things, if you endlessly have to militarily instruct, people will just do what they have been doing here for years, leave. |

I, on the other hand, appreciate the "weeding" of irrelevant posts in a dedicated thread.

We have seen what happens. That is why. And we have seen the impact. Unchecked it ruins many many topics.
Some posters are just triggered by the certain things and can’t not bring up the same thing that we’ve seen a million times and it adds nothing to actual discussion. Electric vehicles is one, BoP, SC procedure are others that are specific to Sportscars. Recently we have Silverstone and whenever certain driver pops on screen! This is either just unthinking tropes, or worse trolling. This is more what you see on twitter. I know I am guilty of it sometimes. I try not to be. Of course the real frustration is debating this approach! For which I apologise to the users of the forum. That needs to stop here. If there is anything new to add, please contact a moderator. If the original topic dies, then fine. Quality is the aim not quantity. The conversation about the repeated topic is rarely stopped - it is just asked to happen where it has already happened. With the hope something new might come up! There is plenty of organic, off topic asides, but if we’ve seen it before or it starts to become out of hand we politely ask for it to be moved. It is interesting how often this can offend some! That’s the internet I guess. Still there is always twitter if that’s what you are into. People who contribute interesting ideas and discussion will leave if every topic just organically becomes the same thing. Thank you for your help. (I’ll leave this hear for a bit then tidy - thanks) Last edited by Adam43; Today at 14:18. Reason: Tidy notice! |

I don't see any unnecessary overpolicing here. It's just about not making specific threads too much mess about everything but topic name.

let’s get back to Spa
Last year we had the fun weather and a Ferrari that couldn’t get the tyres going. They seem better this year and could be another opportunity to practice making those crucial calls! Last years positions: |

Of course, we also have more teams and cars than last year, which makes it harder to determine who has an advantage coming in, even with the results of the last couple of races so far.
But, that's what we have Adam 43 for... |

Usually in the last few years there were some weather woes, even including snow. So who knows Just 6 days and we find out. Looking at BOP data alone Caddy should be on pole but my bets are on Ferrari. Race impossible to say what can happen.
