Buddy LAzier & Panther??

According to IndyStar yesterday, Buddy Lazier says he has a "good shot" at landing the 3rd Panther ride, maybe for more than just Indy...

Anyone knows???

Haven't heard, but it would be good news. Buddy is certainly among the 33 best drivers who would consider racing at Indy, and his experience and charisma alone would make him a valuable addition to any team.

In the IRL site yesterday, there was a sub-headline within a story that alluded to the possibility of BOTH Laziers racing at Indy....

Who Jacques will end up with is anyone's guess...but the mention of it means that an announcement on both should be coming sometime soon...

Mo Nunn could be a likely destination for either of them. Certainly both would be good additions to the field.

Buddy's good for name recognition, as a key player in the developing years of the IRL.

I suspect he may be a bit off the ultimate pace these days, but he'd be a welcome addition.

Buddy runs the cleanest and some of the most consistent racing lines through the "Groove" at Indy....

His racing line is a classic one, and he can be very, very quick there...

A seat with panther will mean that he will have a good set-up...

Don't be surprised if Buddy has a very strong month of May....

Jaques says he has an engine deal and is expecting to announce something at the end of the month, but he only expects it to be Indy, read it at www.indycar.com

I think its great that the Laziers keep hanging in there for this series.

They really are dedicated IndyCar drivers. I'm pretty sure that if they wanted to and tried, they could go somewhere and get a racing deal of some kind, maybe Bush, ARCA, or truck. I wish they could get more than the 500, but at least we have that.

This years Indy 500 is beginning to look like it will have a very strong field. Let's hope the good news keeps coming...

How many Chevy's are GM prepared to supply for the 500 bar the three Panther cars.

Would Panther run more than 3 cars after Indy (as alluded to in an earlier post)

Are Chevy really that competitive, or did Panther have a good set-up at Miami?

Is Sarah Fisher chasing a ride?

If they can get into decent rides for Indy, they might pull off the upset of the century. Fingers are crossed.

I think Cvehy is pretty strong this year, they were fast all weekend at Homestead so hopefully they will be fast all year.
They real test wil come when they race in Phoenix and St. Pete....

I don't think Jaques' deal is with GM, but I'm just guessing...

Some very good questions there EA. In a month's time we should have more answers. I'm quite optimistic about this year's 500 now - 33 cars with plenty of competitive ones seems likely, although I'm not realistically expecting a proper Bump Day, because I suspect TG will offer funding until a Foyt or Vision car is on the bubble, as in 2004.

There are plenty of 04-spec Chevvy engines going spare, but I'm not sure how many GM would be keen to supply. We know that Mo Nunn is set to run Hondas for his cars in any case.
