Single Seater Air Lifts

Just looking through some sites and came across some single seater Air Lifts and was interested to buy them until I saw the price of around 2500 each, thats 5k per pair!!!

Example:

The std jacks only lift the car about 8-10 inches off the ground, not enough to raise the car higher.

Any alternatives that are cheaper like 5-600 pounds? Ie a manual lift which can lift to the same height.?

SWCRacing has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
There is a company that does a similar product that you wind up or down by using a nut gun or similar. Strongman Tools, Easy Lift I think, they usually attend the Race Retro and a few other shows

Had a look but its not the same, they look more like scissor jacks and ramps

Hi again...

The other product avalible is this:
http://www.on-bike.com/products_bigblue.htm
This is on a motobike site but you put a platform on the front and make a bracket for the back (as you would for air jacks). You then get 2 high torque drills (about £12 each in b&q), 2 23mm sockets on a 1/2" to 1/4" snap connector and put that in the chuck! They are rated for a SWL of 750kg/pair, I used them before getting camozzi air lifts myself, very good product.

Sorry I did not return your previous calls; I got meningitus and ended up in hospital, and in the chaos I lost your details! give me a bell and I can still help.

Steve

official Camozzi Air lifts

If you purchase from Camozzi Pneumatics in Nuneaton direct they can do better deals than the 5k elsewhere.
They can be found on the internet.

Would their deals be 500-600 pounds for a pair? Because this thread is about cheap equivalents. I doubt you'd get a pair for less than £4k direct. Probably £4.5k.

It all depends on what you want.

Why not use a quicklift? Because I suspect that does not give you what you want. But it does lift the car and would cost a darn sight less than 5k.

You could make yourself a gantry/hoist for about 5-600 or ask Dave Abbott to make you one to the pattern we designed at ADR back when Noah was a boy-racer. Hand wound winch but rated to 600kgs(?). If you want to spend more or do not want the exercise, then you can fit an electric winch instead.

Or you could take the self-designed approach and use the scissor lift approach mentioned. You really only need to talk to a good fabricator.

You can find all sorts of hoists, but don't look in the F3 paddock for anything sensibly priced!!
