Motorsports PR work experience opportunity

Fantastic motorsport PR work experience opportunity available

We all know how difficult it is to get that first step on the motorsport career ladder. We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work with one of the UK’s most successful race series, coordinating the PR and press efforts for the championship. The role will involve writing and issuing press releases, race reports, club newsletters and working with commentators at the circuit, liaison with our series sponsor and development of a social media campaign to raise the profile of the championship.

The Sports 2000 Racing Car Club was founded to further the cause of Sports 2000 racing by raising its profile and enjoyment for competitors and spectators alike. Sports 2000 is a restricted-rules class of two-seat, rear-engined, open-cockpit, full-bodied sports-prototype racecar used, similar in design to the cars that compete in the Le Mans 24 hour race. Sports 2000 offers competitors some of the fastest and most cost-effective racing in the UK (and Europe) and we would like someone to help us spread the word.

The ideal candidate will have some PR experience or be studying for a marketing and PR qualification and be familiar with how to use social and digital media. They will need to work with the series organisers, drivers, motorsport press titles and sponsors to create engaging race reports and press releases and social media news. Attendance at each round of the championship is essential and free tickets and assistance with transport to some of the UK’s highest profile events will be given. Whilst this is an unpaid position, it will give the successful candidate invaluable experience in motorsports marketing and PR.

Applicants are asked to provide a 500 word profile of themselves and why they would be the ideal PR representative for the series to SRCC-PR@mail.com. Short-listed candidates will be invited to the final round of the championship at Brands Hatch on the 27/28th October to meet the series organisers and report on the race.

For more details on the series, please visit the club website (which is undergoing a redesign) at www.sports2000-srcc.com
