TuscanR should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What ever happened to Phoenix?

Hello All,
Could any of you enlightened motorsport fanatics out there tell me what happened to Team Phoenix, the ones who were supposed to have bought all the assets of Prost and would be racing within a season??? If they don't exist anymore where are all the old chassis and all the other equipment from prost. Are they just rotting away in an old french warehouse somewhere??

Maybe they could sell the chassis to paul Stoddart he seems to like buying useless cr*p at the moment! at least then they could recoup some of the so called investment money. Does anyone know if the court case ever happened because there was some hoo-ha over paying the enterance fee they bought the assets so they thought they had an automatic place on the grid

Basically, yeah.

Walkinscam had his buddy Nickerson buy up the Prost might be more accurate) to get the all important 12th F1 entry that belonged to Prost, and sell it off for a big profit to pay off the massive debts he racked up for Arrows, as the Concorde agreement would only allow twelve teams. Thankfully that plan didn't work as Bernie told them to shove it and they tried to force the issue by bring the chassis with the 99 Arrows hand grandes in place of the Ferraris, with Tarso Marques and Gaston Mazzacane as the "drivers", and never mind the 107% cutoff, they weren't going make 701% with that. Really ironic that Stoddy who made a big fuss about that deal ended with the Arrows tubs.

That naughty little Walkinscam certainly had his fingers in a lot of pies and it looks like this time they got burnt, thanks Corkholio so I take it that the legal action was an idle threat and it never came off! Gaston Mazzacane and Tarso Marques hmmmm isn't there another thread currently running on here about those two? something about the worst F1 drivers ever????

They basically were trying to get some valuable assets from the prost bankruptcy while avoiding the debts.
It was a very badly planned pseudo scam

The Phoenix mob paid about US$2m for the 3 complete Prost cars.... Stoddart paid $US700k for 5 Arrows chassis, 3 complete, a load of machine tools, spare exhausts for the Cossie, spare carbon fibre sheeting and numerous other things....

Who got dudded? Not Stoddart
