Formula Super Tourer 2005

Nobody seems to have mentioned the good news received recently from Garry Woodcock re the 2005 season for us Super Tourer owners, so thought I would.

We have confirmation there will be 3 meetings next year based on the format seen at Snetterton 3/4 July this year. IE 1 qualifier and 3 races. All meetings will be double headers racing at Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Donington. So far the BARC have received 20 letters of intent. This is of course excellent news for everybody who owns a Super Tourer.

Looking forward to these events,

Richard

That's great, just hope that it actually works out!! Was a little disappointed that Formula Saloons faded out this year but I suppose nothing lasts forever.

Went to the Snetterton meeting and that was a good weekend.

Do we have any dates for these or are they tbc?

At the moment they are TBC, but I guess we'll hear more ove the winter, busy rebuilding our cars.

PS Do you know what the Formula Saloons website changed to?

Didn't think it was still on-line, last time I tried to go onto it the address wasn't recognised. It was www.formulasaloons.com

You might be off asking Garry about it.

garry should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sorry for not posting here sooner.
The format for next year is 3 meetings, hopefully to be at Brands, Snetterton and Donington. Each meeting should consist of 1x20min qualifying, 2 races between 16-18min and 1x final of approx 20min.
Classes are (a) 2ltr Normally aspirated Super Tourers 1997 onwards, (b) same as above but 1993 upto and inclusive 1996, (c) same but 1990 upto and inclusive 1992, (d) invitation class for Touring cars and DTM cars not complying with other classes.
Grid for 1st race decided by qual, grids for other races decided by finishing positions of previouse race but woth top six decided by blind ballot.
Although not a Championship points will be awarded for each class position with double points up for grabs in the final.
All meetings will be open to oversea's drivers.
Tyres will be Dunlop, licence will be hopefully National B.
Dates should be known end of November.
All 3 entries and registration fee will have to be paid upfront by the end of Feb 2005. This is to make sure that we do not have to keep having the problem of late entries.
If you have a car that you think might be eligible please contact me on garry@woodcockbrothers.co.uk
Formula Saloons website is no more, there are plans to start a new website in the near future, I will keep you all posted.
