Advice on attending Barcelona Grand Prix

Me and a few mates are planning a potential weekend at the Barcelona Grand Prix. It would be a first for us!

Can anyone who has been give any useful advice? E.g.

Best airport to circuit travel?
Any good places to stay - cheap, near to good nosh / beer?
Where to try and get in the stands?
What to avoid?

You know the kind of 'form'.

Cheers for any relevant comments - they are much appreciated.

I don't know if you've been to to Barcelona before, and the only contribution I can make to this has got nothing to do with F1... But, do NOT go to Barcelona without seeing some of the Gaudi architecture!

IF there is a group of you why not hire a car, Eazyjet, go, bmi baby etc do No-Frills flights to Barcelona, but also check the prices on BA/Iberia etc as they may not be that much more and offer better timings.

Try Expida, ebookers or opodo (who sponsor Gimi Bruni) for hotels in Barcelona. The British Airways website has a good guide to various cities it flies too.

You can go on an organised trip, but you will get better value and have more flexibility organising the trip yourself.

Ok,
Barcelona is a simple and great GP to visit.
Fly to Barcelona. (easy jet?)
Stay on Las Ramblas (strip up middle of city from coast, where it all happens, bars etc), check net for cheap hotels, plenty around.
Take subway to circuit (from Las Ramblas it goes to within 10-15mins walk of circuit)
If you feel the need to splash on Grandstand tickets, 1st corner is the only place to be as this is pretty much the only overtaking spot.
If you go General Admission, there is some good grass up towards turns 4 ish.
Have fun!

Yes. Good spot.
Only other thing I forgot to mention was how to get the right train, when to get off etc. But all I remember was basically you just follow the Schumacher fans...
You're welcome.

Cheers!

I'll try to remember to shout out 'princeofdarkness' at random intervals, just in case you are around and if so I'll buy you a beer!

If not, I may well get arrested.

Bye for now!

PS. How do you spot an MS fan? Always at the front and about as interesting as watching 'paint dry'?

I won't be there this year... so don't go getting arrested!
MS fans are easy to spot, red cap, big belly, dubious facial hair, and a beer.
Have a good trip.
