Yeah, needs a livery.

In 2002 when Da Matta was driving the plain black Newman-Haas Lola everyone was raving about how cool it was, how distinctive it was, whereas I was continually moaning that they should actually paint the thing...

Maybe that's why it was so fast.....no Pesky livery to slow it down!

It's not the first time a Champ Car has had gold wheels. I really don't see anything special about it.

Aww, I was expecting a thread about the coolest ever Champ Car, and was preparing to check through pics from the 70's and 80's etc..

As for the CTE car, I expect that paint scheme to change as things get more finalized. Would be great if they keep the final paint scheme primarily black though, perhaps adding some flowing lines in either gold or white from the start of the sidepods and up along the rear of the car.

Going along with the CTE logo, the car could have yellow-orange-red lines along it, a la Red Bull for example but maintaining the black...

Perhaps I'm just too old; in the 50's&60's just had one or two colors and the number. It's difficult for me see past the kaleidoscope of addvertising to enjoy the lines of car. I gess I'm just not a 21st centuary kind a guy.

I think a good livery certainly helps in the beauty factor, but if it's on an ugly chasis, it is just like polishing a tu.....I mean, it won't make the car cool!

I won't name names of what I think is ugly (no, it's not THAT obvious, it'll just take too long....since I find a lot of cars ugly really! ) but you've got to have a good canvas for the artist to work on!

I always like the Interscope that Danny Ongias drove. Course that was back in the days when there was only one open wheeled series in the U.S

Vitor Barreto, welcome to 10T's!
But the car you've shown is not a ChampCar.

Vasser's "Superman" car driven in the (1996?) US500 was pretty sharp.

Since this is seemingly turning into such a thread I originally thought it was, here's my contribution - the Penske-prepared Sunoco McLaren which Mark Donohue drove to victory in the 1972 Indianapolis 500:

If you're talking Liveries, my two favorites are the Valvoline livery on the Reynards or the Glidden liveries on the Menard cars at Indy....a close third would be the purex livery on Dreyer & Reibold in the other series....

as far as classic lines on a race car, I liked the Lotus Turbine pictured above, the Chapparal that Al Unser Sr. drove in 1979 and Johnny Rutherford won the Indy 500 in 1980, or the mid-1970s Coyote that AJ drove to his fourth Indy win...

Anyone remember the Target Chip Ganassi car that Scott Dixon drove at Denver? It had both Target and Coors Light sponsorship, and had a gleaming red and silver paint job. Very sweet!
