NASCAR Sprint Cup round 6 - Martinsville.
One of my personal favourites this week, Martinsville.
Usual contenders here are Johnson and Gordon, Johnson in particular has dominated here in recent years as the average finishes among the active drivers shows: Quote:

I dunno. They seem to have left him to his underachieving so far. The beauty of it, from the NASCAR POV, is that it doesn't matter if Jr isn't performing. Jr Nation are going to keep doing their thing regardless. Mind you, could be said Jr has managed to fail despite already present help... It is true that Jr actually delivering could increase things to some insane level...difficult for them to caution their way to successful manipulation all the time, though. They'll likely try though... It is a tricky one for NASCAR. It is hard to get someone to become a force who isn't good enough to become a force.
It is a bit sad, though, that the rule-makers manipulate things at all ( I don't really buy the conpsiracy theories that they throw cautions for any particular driver, but I am sure they do in the name of squishing things up). Maybe they don't...maybe these seemingly mystery debris cautions really are for debris, and maybe one does need to be thrown when a person goes slightly off track but at no point spins or shows any sign of losing control (meaning the yellow is thrown after the incident is over). Otherwise, all I can say is that it is grand we are at another short-track. If only there were more. |

Truck race off until noon Monday.May it improve tommorow.If not think of Kyle Busch in F1 car.Thinking by great and good is now that its easier to go to open wheelers from Stocks rather than opposite direction.Sure Toyota would do better with him than either of their present F1 drivers.Just a thought to keep all entertained if it rains on Sunday.

If NASCAR adopted same code as F1 expect 20 drivers in any one race to get a 10 slot grid penalty.No wonder the Yanks are not struck on F1.
If you like racing rather than the so called superior engineering stance, it's no contest. |

Some great drives there - the Stewart/Haas cars did well, Allmendinger in the Petty car had another great drive too (any sponsors?)....
Ambrose in 14th is fantastic - top drive by Michael Waltrip too who lost a lap early... |

Pleased with the JPM result, after a difficult stint with a dodgy tyre and some simply dreadful pitwork.
