Cromley's alleged tongue slippage??
Now, I was at the track and got this second hand.
A former driver rang from his home to another former driver of my acquaintance and said that Neil, while commentating on Jason Richards' slow-down lap said something about 'wait now for the big cun-er guns'. Anyone hear that? My source maybe need his ears checked? Kramer |

Its in today's Daily Telegraph, suggesting Cromley made a slip. #10 says he didnt however.
I doubt he did but didnt hear it first hand either. His pic in the paper has a 00 cap on |

I heard that... and he did say the c word I can assure you!
It was just before the Kelly car was due to go out on their shootout lap and they went to a commercial break... |

I thought I heard it but did not have tape on to confirm it. If he did not say it ,it was very close.Certainly enough to be asking did he really say that?

He said "cuns", and he did say "sorry about that" directly afterwards. Anyway, who cares? He is the best at what he does, so let's move on.

Nothing in it - he went to say 'cars' - changed to 'guns' and it came out 'cuns', but definitley no 't'
My wife was a Sex In the City watcher and they had an episode where they said the big one 3 or 4 times, slow, clear and concise - Crompton came close, but no cigar. Surely with the standard of 'acceptable' language now on radio and TV it won't be that long until it's commonplace anyway.... Last edited by SRabbit; 9 Oct 2006 at 22:07. |

Well, he said an awful lot less than one of the drivers on the car-to-pits radio - I forgot who - which they had to apologise for! The perils of live tv. Nothing to see here, move along...

Well if Diffey misheard his slip, theres a good chance many viewers would have! Diffey was laughing and said "did you just say that..." and the rest of it was cut off.

What about the infamous in-car from the Canberra race, when channel seriously's poster boy uttered both the f-bomb & the c-word when his blood pressure rose after allegedly being blocked by a slower car.
.....somthing about " tell that effing C, I'll put him into the effing fence if he effing keeps this Shiite up " Far more offensive than a tongue tied commentator, who has no real priors. Don't you people have anything else in your life to complain about ?? If not, I'd recommend marriage. |
