I would guess Markland turned down the opportunity to participate. GPC have taken a second entry again to make up the 46.

As a "saison" entry Markland would have had priority for that place. JWA is of course in the same position as the second GPC - on the waiting list- but they did say very early on they would not be going to Valencia.

Why J.M. Gounon is going to drive for Noel del Bello? Iīve just visited Courage Competition's web, and they donīt give a clear reason.
Itīs strange, Gounon is the fastest of Courage's drivers, they need him for the race.

Courage news on EI. #13 misses the race, because they're running it in full scale wind tunnel on May 9th.

The official Valencia entry list isn't correct. The T2M Dome will be driven by Yutaka Yamagishi (who drove for T2M at Le Mans in 2005 and 2006), and not by Koji Yamanishi, alongside newcomer Robin Longechal.

Im a little dissapointed about Courage's performance so far , early days i know . But with their experiance of car building , they are "just" finding cooling issues with their AER motors .

Does not bode well for the biggy !!!

Also dissapointed with a few non shows ..... maybe their should be a penalty system like there was in the WS-PC in the 80's . If i had a team and didnt get an entry for the championship , i would be ****ed off with someone who did and misses 20% of the show so far .

Firstly, Iīm dissapointed too, last year Courage had the fastest car in Nurburgring and Jarama, and now they canīt get podium places (but has better reliable, weīve seen in Monza)...

...and I understand your disappointment with the teams that 'dissapear' or donīt show for Valencia, but a penalty system isnīt a good solution; the rules have to be flexible at this point, because some teams may have problems (with car develop, money, sponsors...) and a penalty system could be worse for small teams; with this system, teams like ProTran or Lavaggi, that start to race recently, can organize and develop their cars without too much pressure.

Isn't the SRO that organises both events?

The AER engine is turbo charged and thus requires more cooling than the Mugen V8 of last year. Monza was very hot, so this might explain the problem.

Yes and even the Pescarolo's were suffering from cooling problems which is not something normally associated with them!!

Temperature was also an issue for RfH. Valencia might be hotter btw, Monza was not that exceptionally hot....

There is no start money and no success money. Teams have to pay for a full season so there is a form of penalty when they do not show up. The reserves are being called in when some do not turn up so where is the harm. I know that I would rather see a LMP 1 or LMP 2 car that turns up late than yet another GT2 car that looks like all the zillions of other races that are on offer. It is GT2 that is the 'swing' in LMS and there are dozens of other races that these cars can attend--often on the same day.
