Temperature issues...

What kinda temperatures were there at Monza? I'd imagine Le Mans, being in the middle of summer in hot France (apparently it was very hot last year?), is not likely to be any cooler?

In all Spain has been rain very hard for 4 days, will continue this weekend, and probably next Monday too...

As I mentioned, Monza was nothing extraordinary, just over 25 degrees Celsius. Le Mans and Valencia are very probably going to be hotter (provided we have "normal" weather and not this 27 degrees in Holland, 17 degrees in Spain thingy we have this week...)

I believe the Courages used a new radiator system, maybe to decrease drag. It obviously did not work.

It's all about not changing the sidepods too much in order to keep the good aero figures of the LC70. The intercooler seems to be the problem and is also analyzed by the engine manufacturer. Courage has some minor changes for the Valencia race but hopes to find the right solution during the windtunnel test which was planned for a specific LM body-package. Gounon is in the N°24 car in order to help Petrov.

Le Mans 2005: The average temperature was above 28 degrees
Le Mans 2006: The average temperature was above 23 degrees

These are just my recollections. I remember the Aston drivers nearly collapsing from heat exhaustion in 2005.

To be honest she was so far back after the stop that I didn't notice - The timing screens at Monza didn't cover the last 14 cars!

Yep, that race was stupidly hot. The coolest it got in the middle of the night was 22 degrees, which I remember clearly.

Two things I'll always remember from that year:

Ice being thrown over the Aston drivers during pit-stops

A bag of apples I'd brought being cooked in my tent by the heat.

I'll remember the absurd amount of water we consumed and part of the group proudly showing up on Sunday under the main grandstands with beach equipment/infrastructure bought in desperation and refusing to move until 16.00

In Spain usually rains a lot in April -not in March or May, only in April- and this year itīs raining more and heavy than usual. In Valencia will rain all the week (including Friday) but I havenīt got info for next weekend yet.
