As I said, this IS HEARSAY and nothing is certain until something official is released. About Le Mans though......very surprising if the rumours are true and they have been running this restrictor all season......I cannot imagine it being overlooked there..

because it cost less to change 2 "over-powered" cars than 10 privateer cars

Just looked through the gallery from Saturday at the-paddock:
Did those super-brains really REMOVE the position lights from the cars? |

THIS IS NOT TRUE, THEY FAILED A STALL TEST. THEIR RESTRICTORS ARE PERFECTLY LEGAL, JUST A POSSIBLE LEAK IN THE AIRBOX. NOT THE REASON FOR THEIR SPEED, THATS DOWN TO THE TOP JOB BEING DONE BY ENGINEER AND THE LADS FROM JOTA. More annoyingly is the ACO's desision to pull them up for missing a legality box (Required bodywork at the rear of the car) but not other teams for similar issues, Creation, only one rear light and no Legality Boxes, they have both fallen off???? |

I am somewhat tired of all the talk on both sides of the Atlantic....
People don't want Pugs to dominate, ummm they spend more money, why not? Why not give Audi some appearance money and let the younger drivers use it in the LMS series? Oh wait, they don't have the money or want to give appearance fees to teams that don't really need it. This year's best LMP1 race was at Le Mans, oh well get over it. Even if they change the rules again, Pug will either pull up tent or make enough changes to at least give them an advantage. Would endurance racing be better off without the factory involvement? Only slightly... Congrats to Saleen for another victory in the LMS, maybe they can lock up the championship soon enough to come State side... |

Seems its just me talking to myself about this, and Im sure most of you know this already but just in case, the explanation for the Swiss Spirit teams absence is that the program has been suspended:

What should be done about having the wrong restrictor (for the season and LM)--if that proves to be the case? I would have thought these would have been checked carefully but apparently not--until it was picked up at the Ring. Points, penalties, fines ?? It would be shame but other teams would have suffered if they have had the wrong restrictor all year. Also, did they have the correct restrictor cone on hand to put back into the car for the race at the Ring? If so, Hmmmm. |

it is now from my understanding that it was not the restrictor it failed on but a air leak from the air box that failed to stall the car . the restrictor was the corect size but hey even though they were rightly punished for it and well done for picking it up at scrutineering how amazing was it to come from the back o9f the grid to finish 4th just shows how quick they are maybe could have nicked 3rd place if started from there original position ... well done jota and there drivers

I don't think that is entirely correct. There has been hushed talk about the restrictor being that applied to a 5 litre unit (not a 5.5l unit). Charouz should confirm the position. If they ran the correct restrictor throughout the year, there is no harm in confirming it, is there? In fact, it would clarify the position. I presume all other teams would be willing to make the same verfication given the circustances.

according to enurance-info, they spoke to Poisennot pre-grid and he indicated that the restrictor diameters did not comply. Apparently there was some confusion over the sizes for 5l and 5.5l motors by the team (???).
It would be good to clarify and get it out in the open. |
