Future Le Mans entries...
Didn't know where to put this so started a new thread...
Team Jota Sport have entered the VdeV championship this year and also have a Drivers club training programme which suggests a possible return to Le Mans in the next few years... "...The Ligier programme though is proving to be especially interesting as it seems a perfect training ground for Le Mans. The Drivers Club will appear as the primary brand on Dolan and Hancock's Ligier racing car this season in promotion of the service which offers 5-star, bespoke training programmes and access to exclusive driving events to discerning individuals looking for the ultimate driving experiences. Dolan himself is a product of the concept and following several wins and podiums in his debut season of Radical racing last year (despite having never even visited a racing circuit until two years ago!), looks set to become an outstanding ambassador as he nears his ultimate goal of racing at Le Mans within the next two years." http://www.jotasport.com/latest-news/ |

Lola withdrawal of F1 entry for 2010 - presumably (hopefully) good news for another attack with the Astons?

Should be good news for their sportscar program unless they get depressed for losing out on F1... But Aston Martin probably depends on Prodrive's budget also for next year but Prodrive is also having trouble getting into F1.

Well, Dar Investment are supposed to be funding Prodrive's F1 programme, with a view to bringing in the Aston name a couple of years later if the team is successful

Hmm, Investment Dar is shopping a large chunk of their (50%) Aston Martin holdings off, as they, Inv. Dar, are not performing so well at the moment!
A number of pieces on it here L.P. |

I was pleased to see Nichy's comments that Audi would return stronger... hopefully we will see them all battle again next year with the Aston's breaking the top three! |

Morgan back in GT2? Autosport are suggesting that Morgan boss Charles Morgan wants to go back to Le Mans and is talking to AutoGT Racing about a GT2 version of the GT3 car.
According to Morgan 'The aim is for us to go back to Le Mans. France is a big market for us, we sell more than 100 cars a year there, which is 10% of our production' |

It would make sense, the GT3 Morgan is much better geared to racing that the old GT2. The GT3 road version is called the Aero (the GT2 was based on the Aero 8).
I would love to see Morgan back at Le Mans, absolutely love it. |

Do we collectively have any idea/ speculation which teams are likely to be there next year?
Any idea how many years the Aston project is for? Presumably we'll see the R15's back - what about Pug and even Acura? Jag's return will presumably be in the GT class - will we have GT2 and GT3's next year? |

There wasn't any, so stop worrying... It was hot air and posturing.
I'm still trying to work out what happened to the 908HY Peugeot? |

Has anyone said they intend to come back next year?
I know Nishy mentioned they would come back stronger... |

The ACO announced AFTER the 908HY was rolled out that hybrid technology would only be used to stretch efficiency and not increase performance - That was NOT good news for Peugeot

Wouldn't be surprised. The Morgan Aero Super Sport is already a winning car. I think anyone who makes a new GT car will get an entry. |

Living in the States, the only time I have seen a Morgan as when it is in last place at Le Mans a few years back. I hope they have come a long way since then.
It also isn't that good looking of a car to me. |

I understand what you mean - but plucky underdogs who do things slighty different are good for diversity and sustain interest - as long as they keep running.

They're quite an acquired taste - particularly with that huge wing on the bag.
